Guilty Wives

No husbands allowed

Only minutes after Abbie Elliot and her three best friends step off of a private helicopter, they enter the most luxurious, sumptuous, sensually pampering hotel they have ever been to. Their lavish presidential suite overlooks Monte Carlo, and they surrender: to the sun and pool, to the sashimi and sake, to the Bruno Paillard champagne. For four days they're free to live someone else's life. As the weekend moves into pulsating discos, high-stakes casinos, and beyond, Abbie is transported to the greatest pleasure and release she has ever known.

What happened last night?

In the morning's harsh light, Abbie awakens on a yacht, surrounded by police. Something awful has happened—something impossible, unthinkable. Abbie, Winnie, Serena, and Bryah are arrested and accused of the foulest crime imaginable. And now the vacation of a lifetime becomes the fight of a lifetime—for survival.
For a few chapters you live vicariously through these four friends having a great time in Monte Carlo.  It was easy to like all them and feel sympathetic towards them when it all goes wrong. I knew they were being set up and the suspense of wanting to know how and why (I was pretty sure I knew who) kept me riveted to the pages .

I've had mixed results with Patterson, but I'll keep this one in mind.

I don't think I've read many James Patterson books. I want to try more thrillers.

Oh no, I do not like books with wrongly accused people :( If they are on the run then that's another thing

Usually enjoy his books! I haven't read one of his co-authored novels Ina while though. Sounds like a fast paced and good read.

I've kinda given up on Patterson. Unless this ends up on your best of 2012 list I'm skipping it :)
