Christmas Time (children's book)

Since Christmas is such a captivating time of year, it’s the perfect setting for telling children about the miracle of the Lord Jesus Christ’s birth. Using selected passages from the first chapters of the gospels of Matthew and Luke, Christmas Time – It’s All About Jesus tells the story of Jesus’ birth in a delightfully poetic and child-like way. The sensational illustrations create an unforgettable image, so a child can always remember the true meaning of Christmas.

As an added bonus, Pastor Russ and Sue have developed devotionals to be used by families to enrich their Christmas celebrations. These are complete with attributes and names of Jesus, questions for discussion, and activities to do as a family to share Christ with those around them. Coupled together, this story and devotionals will enhance your celebration of Christmas during the season and all year long!

The Christmas story told in easy to understand verse.  The illustrations are adorably colorful and while my 16 month old grandson wasn't interested (at this time) in the words, he did like the pictures.  It will be a yearly go to story as he grows older.  Included with the book are ideas for family devotions and activities.

The Bedtime Book for Dogs

Come. Sit. Stay. I want to tell you a story. I think you'll like it. It's about a TREAT and a good dog, a very good dog who wanted to go play. But his friend was busy....

THE BEDTIME BOOK FOR DOGS is a charming story about a dog who decides that he'd rather walk to the park by himself than wait for his human companion-and discovers that all of his usual activities aren't as much fun without a good friend to share them with. This is an adorably packaged book with illustrations by Paul Heath that makes a perfect gift for dog lovers of all ages, with words dogs will understand and kids will want to read again and again.

This is an adorable picture book that kids will love. As I do not have any pets at the moment, I can't attest to their enjoyment. However, I did read it aloud in my office where there is a collection of teddy bears. They may have loved it (you can see they were listening intently)!?  I hope to read it to my grand nephews who are here visiting from Spokane, WA.

Thank you to Brianne of Hatchette Book Group for this review copy.
