In between plenty of home improvement projects I've been getting quite a bit of reading time. Choosing mostly fun, light and happy ending reads. Need that type of distraction especially when I watch too much news.

Sunshine is the new sheriff of her hometown. Funny thing, she never ran for the position. She and her teenage daughter move back. Both are conflicted about this turn of events. Sun has an interesting background that give rise to questions about her daughter's father. On her first day on the job her daughter's new friend is kidnapped and thing are off an running. Great characters, with plenty of humor and twists kept the pages turning.

struggles with motivation. Justine is the opposite and finds it hard to
understand why she just can't get it together. Justine's life takes a drastic

What You Wish For by Katherine Center
Samantha has a dream job as the school librarian at a wonderful school. The school's principal and his wife are not only great to work for they are friends. When Max dies and a new principal is hired, Sam is blindsided to learn it is a former colleague. She left that school when her crush turned into unrequited love. Duncan is not who she left behind. He has changed drastically and she sets out to figure out why or get rid of him before he totally changes the school she loves. Both have pasts that they are keeping secret. Will they be able to reveal their true selves and have a second chance at love? Loved the secondary characters just as much as Sam and Duncan. A surprisingly great read.

FBI Kimberly Quincy teams up with Det. D.D. Warren and Flora Dane to figure out if serial killer Jacob Ness had anything to do with bodies that have been found in the mountains of Georgia. Flora has the unique position of surviving Jacob. Each strong woman brings expertise to the investigation that takes quite a twisty turn. A page turner!
Twice In A Blue Moon by Christina Lauren
Tate is on vacation with her grandmother celebrating her high school graduation. She meets Sam and they have an immediate connection. Tate shares her true identity with him and he betrays that trust. Fourteen years later, Tate is an up and coming actress, landing a fantastic part in a new movie. Little does she know the writer is non other than Sam, her teenage crush. Will she be able to put what happened behind her and work with Sam? A fun, sweet read. Started out listening on audio, but the narrator had an inflection in her voice that made it hard to listen, so I switched to print.

You read a ton this past week! I have What You Wish For coming up for review, and A Bad Day for Sunshine is on my wishlist.
Wishing you a great reading week and good health
I keep looking at most of your books and going " I want to read!" I have read the Robyn Carr. It was just so so for me but could have been my Covid frame of mind. I am putting that Darynda book on my must read list and I do have the Katherine Center book that I really look forward to. Keep enjoying the walking!
Lovely mix of reads.
Light and happy reads are good right now. Hope you are well and stay safe!
I'm looking forward to the new Katherine Center book. Might move it up the list!
I loved When You See Me, and I like the look of A Bad Day for Sunshine. I keep seeing it everywhere.
I have What You Wish For on my NG stack.
The newest Robyn Carr is on my wish list, too.
Enjoy your week, and stay safe and well. Here are WEEKLY UPDATES
That's the second good review of A Bad Day for Sunshine I've seen. I want to pick it up. I need to read something by Iles.
Our celebrities and athletes mean nothing right now and retail workers - many of whom work for minimum wage - are keeping us going, along with health care workers and others. I sure hope we remember this when all of this passes.
Looks like you've been reading some great books. I have several of these on my lists for later at some point. I've been reading/listening to JD Robb's Eve Dallas books in order these last few weeks. I'm finding that very soothing though they are, of course, crime novels. I love them though. Trying to stay away from too much news updates and am progress in that regard. Hope you have a good week and please take care!
Great looking bunch of books. I have a few of them on my TBR mountain. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
I so want the new Darynda Jones book and kind to think of it, probably all of those need to be in my life.
Sounds like a good list to have read :) I've got a Katherine Center book and a Christina Lauren book working their way up my TBR pile...soon! Thanks for sharing.
Its been a while since I read a Robyn Carr series book. Time to rectify that I think.
I've enjoyed Christina Lauren's books in the past, so I may check that one out.
You've featured several books I have my eye on. At the top of the list is What You Wish For. I am so glad you enjoyed it! I hope you are enjoying your current and upcoming reads. I've enjoyed Catherine Anderson in the past and look forward to reading Huckleberry Lake at some point. I hope you have a good weekend. Stay well and safe.
What You Wish For looks good - adding it to my list. Of course the Highlander loos good too, they always do...;)
