Grief is the most solitary emotion; it makes islands of us all. I spend a lot of time visiting graves over the past few weeks. Sometimes with Anne, but mostly along. The people who see there give me a wide berth. I'm not sure why. For thirty miles around, almost everyone knows me. Penn Cage, the mayor of Natchez, Mississippi. When avoid me - waving from a distance, if at all, then hurrying on their way - I sometimes wonder if I have taken on the mantle of death.
Mississippi Blood by Greg Iles (Book #3)
When someone you love is murdered, you learn things about yourself you'd give a great deal not to know. If you kill the person who robbed you of that life, you discover that vengeance can't begin to fill the fulminating void that murder leaves behind.

I love the beginning of stories. Good ones tend to get you excited. Happy Reading!
I've read and enjoyed all of Greg Iles books. But I am definitely looking forward to #3 in his trilogy. The 1st 2 books were terrific.
Yes, I'd definitely read more. Hope you are enjoying this one.
I really enjoyed this series. I just finished it a couple of weeks ago. The three books were long but well worth it.
I really liked the one Iles book I read, but I haven't yet tried anything else by him. This one sounds good!
