Weekly Reading Wrap Up (SP/IMWAYR?)

Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson
Kate and her cousin whom she's never met, have exchanged houses for six months. Kate arrives in Boston hoping that time away from London will go a long way in helping her deal with her anxiety/panic issues.  Work has taken her cousin Corbin to London. When she arrives at the apartment a neighbor is seemingly missing.  She doesn't pay too much attention, but then is drawn into the case as her cousin's secrets are revealed.  Corbin's back story is told in between the investigation, and we learn what happened to Kate.  Her back story leaves you wondering how reliable she is as a narrator. A premise that held promise, but ended up falling flat for me as I had it figured out early and the conclusion wasn't as satisfying as I wanted it to be.

Hot Winter Nights by Codi Gray (Bookshots)
Allie left New York for Bear Mountain, Montana to take a hospital administrator job. She is renting a cabin from Dex, a search and rescue worker.  The cabin is not quite finished when she arrives so Dex is around renovating. She also meets a handsome doctor at the hospital.  There is a short love triangle, but quickly a decision is made.  A fast, easy, enjoyable read.

Anytime, Any Place by Jennifer Probst (audio) #2
Brothers broken by the loss of their mother come together to heal and find love while working their family's construction business.  This is book 2, complete thoughts April 14

Seven Minutes in Heaven by Eloisa James (audio) #3
Ward enlists Eugenia's expertise to help him retain guardianship of his younger siblings. Expertly narrated by Susan Duerden. Complete thoughts April 21st.

A bit of a slow reading week during Spring Break.  We spend a lot of time picking out tile for the bathroom and carpet for the stairs and bedroom after our water damage.  Our washer also died so a new one was researched and purchased.  Why or why do these things happen so close together?  The joys of home ownership.

Oh no, the washer too? When it rains it pours... sorry to hear that. Speaking of rain, did you get enough of it this week? Although the last two days were pretty nice...

Too bad Her every Fear was kind of a disapointment. :(

My goodness. So many people I know are posting about failing washing machines. Seems to be going around. We also have water damage to fix — our next big project to face in the next month.

I'm posting while on my road trip, thanks to my trusty smart phone. It's Monday! What are your reading?

Funny how bad things really do tend to happen all together hey! I haven't read any books by Peter Swanson, but I have The kind worth killing on my shelf. Some of my friends read it and also a whole lot of mixed feelings there....

Hope you will have great week and here's my Sunday Post: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2017/04/the-sunday-headlines-3.html

Too bad Her Every Fear fell flat. And Oh No! on the washer going at the same time. UGH.

Sounds like a busy and frustrating week. I think that manufacturers just don't make appliances to last very long anymore. :(

My sister really liked The Kind Worth Killing. Sorry to hear this one is disappointing. I usually don't like unreliable narrators though that seems to be a big trend in suspense lately.

Hope you have a better week this week!

There's always something with a house, isn't there?

I loved Swanson's last book so I'm disappointed Her Every Fear wasn't better.

Isn't that always the way when you own a house? There's always something that needs to be repaired or replaced.

Anytime, Any Place looks good. I've been wanting to read Jennifer Probst's books.

Have a great week!

Sorry to hear that "Her Every Fear" didn't work for you. I enjoyed it, but I don't read that many thrillers.

Ugh water damage and the washer breaks down? Being a homeowner is seriously expensive! And it does all seem to happen at once! Hopefully you get it all worked out!
You got some good listens! I am curious about the Eloisa James book so I will be on the lookout for your review!

Oh no! It does always seem that way, doesn't it? It's been too long since I read an Eloisa James book- I think that needs to be remedied!
