Tuesday Intro/Teaser

First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros is a weekly meme hosted by Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea every Tuesday. To participate share the opening paragraph or two of a book you've decided to read based on that paragraph. Please feel free to join in, First Chapter~First Paragraph~Tuesday Intros.

Prologue
Exactly twenty-two minutes before Mickey Bolden met his maker, he tossed a handful of popcorn into his mouth and said, "A woman walks into a bar." Shaw Kinnard, hunched forward on the bar stool next to Mickey's and, staring into his drink with every indication of boredom, gave the shot glass of tequila a couple of idle turns. "Yeah?? And?" "And nothing." "That's the joke?" "No joke, and not a damn thing about this is funny." As though he'd been popped with a rubber band, Shaw's boredom vanished. His head snapped around to look at Mickey.

Sting by Sandra Brown

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Ambrosia of The Purple Booker

With that face, that body, she could afford to be selective. No two ways about it, she could make just about any man's mouth water. Which kinda sucked. Since Shaw had been hired to kill her.

I keep meaning to read a book or two by Sandra Brown and I'm not sure I ever have. She is so popular and my library has about a jillion books by her. One day soon. This one sounds 'fun'? LOL

That's an opening that begs to bed continued. Why/how is he going to die, who is the woman? - just a few things to keep reading for. I do love a good Sandra Brown novel. This one is new to me. Hope its as good as it sounds.

I'd keep reading for a bit, anyway; I'm not quite hooked. Definitely has possibilities. I'm afraid my intro/teaser this week is rather gruesome — a reminder that times have often been perilous for women and still are today in some parts of the world: http://wp.me/p4DMf0-1t1

Yeah, never fall for someone you're supposed to kill. And that's a great first sentence! I sure want to know how those 22 minutes end up!

Here's my TT/FCFP post.

I need to give Sandra another try. I used to read her all the time and then she disappointed me a few times and I never went back.
