Reading Wrap Up

This week's wrap up comes from Alaska!   It has been a lot of work packing up and moving my mom, but we got the work done and this week are in Seattle visiting my brother.

Beach Town by Mary Kay Andrews

Greer looks for the perfect locations for movie shoots.  Her last one was a disaster and she know that this last search may be her last.  She finally arrives in Cypress Key, a small Florida town and every place she scouts is perfect!  Most of the towns people are excited and ready to cooperate except for Eben.  She has her work cut out for her in convincing him to work with her and the movie studio.  A funny, fast, entertaining beach read.

Tough Love by Lori Foster

Vanessa has had her eye on fighter Stack for a long time.  She asks him to be her date for their friends wedding and she will make it worth it to him, since she knows he is a friend with benefits kind of guy.  Of course, things don't happen as planned for each of them.  His sister's husband has been trouble since day one and when he threatens Stack's family, Vanessa included, he learns that there is more to life than love 'em and leave 'em.  Vanessa and Stack were great together.  I especially loved Vanessa's generous spirit towards others, especially Stack's family. I can't wait for Armie's story.

Back to Buckhorn by Lori Foster

Zoey is returning home to take care of her mother.  She left town after her former boyfriend was killed in an accident after they broke up.  Many blamed her, and still so, but she is determined to made a new life despite the haters.  She had a terrible flight to town and her friend's brother, Garrett, picks her up from the airport.  Garrett is amused but quickly becomes attracted to her.  A quick 100 page novella has me wanting to read more of this series.

Upside Down by Lia Riley (audio)

Talia's life is upside down with failing her classes, grieving her sister's death and dealing with her family.  Her OCD has been getting worse and when the opportunity comes up to go to Australia for six months, she takes it.  Once there life is a bit better.  She is meeting up with friends when she literally bumps into Bran.  Bran has a reputation that will not be good for what Talia needs right now, but somehow they click and get along really well.  Each has hurts that are affecting their lives in profound ways. Can they together help each other? Or will they self-destruct further? A good beginning to a series and well narrated by Brittany Uomoleale and Tim Wright.  I look forward to listening to the next book.

Untamed by Diana Palmer
Stanton Roarke has always been a mysterious, dangerous guy that shows up to help his friends when they need it the most.  Clarisse knows this better than most. She has know Roarke since they were just kids and he has saved her life in many ways.  They fell in love when she was 17, but for reasons she can't understand he has pushed her away.  A lie has kept them apart, and now that Roarke knows the truth, he pursues her to make up for the lost years. Roarke must leave to complete a mission and when he returns they are planning a wedding.  Of course, something happens to prevent his return and Clarisse is brokenhearted.  Can they find their way back to each other once again?  Roarke's story is one that I have anticipated for quite some time, but wasn't quite what I was expecting.

I sympathize with the moving bit, it is such a lot of work. I'm now well into 4 months of downsizing my uncle's place, and no end in sight, really. Now to prep for sale. I'm not quite a far away as Alaska, but far enough, by the time I get there I'm too tired to work. Thank heaven's for sister's who let me crash in their homes. AND I continue to be amazed at how much you read in the midst of all of this work.

Moving is a lot of work - hope you're having a nice time in Seattle. I liked Beach Town.

You've been busy that's for sure. I believe Seattle is a nice place to visit though. I want to listen to the audio of Beach Town - always well done.

I feel like I've got the Diana Palmer book around here somewhere. I need to find it, but I didn't realize it was part of a series?
