THESE AIRBORNE HEROES BATTLE MORE THAN FLAMES
The elite firefighters of Mount Hood Aviation fly into places even the CIA can't penetrate.
FROM WILDFIRE TO GUNFIRE
Master mechanic Denise Conroy—with a reputation for being as steel-clad as the aircraft she keeps aloft—shuns useless flyboys who don't know one end of a wrench from the other.
Firehawk pilot Vern Taylor—known for unstoppable charm and a complete lack of mechanical skills—proves his talent for out-of-the-box thinking with every flight. He's a survivor and a natural-born heli-aviation firefighter.
When Denise and Vern crash together in the Central American jungle with wildfire on one side and a full-fledged military coup on the other, their newly forged partnership is tested to the max. They have each other, but not even their formidable skills combined can protect Denise and Vern from the conflagration sweeping the jungle... and their hearts.
Denise and Vern were great characters with a lot of chemistry. They are surprised that the other finds them attractive and interesting. Their romance is slow, but fits the story very well. The firefighting is exciting as always. The suspense ramps up when the team is called away on a secret mission. Even though this book is part of a series, it stands well on its own. Can't wait for the next book.

Describe yourself in 100 words or less: I come from a long matriarchy of desert truck stop owners. Single women, born that way and going to die that way. I’m still not sure how discovered helicopters. Did my two tours, but six years in the Army Air National Guard was about all I could stand. The drawdown grounded me back in the states and I’m not good at sitting still. Firefighting seemed like a good way to keep my feet in the air for another season.
What is the hardest part of your job? What is the most rewarding?
Hardest part? What the hell to do when your butt is on the ground. Most rewarding? Getting to heave ten tons of helicopter across the sky—damn cool job for a girl.
When not working, how do you spend your time? Fishing isn’t much bigger in the desert than skiing. Never was exactly the outdoor type, and while I enjoy a good book, they move kinda slow. Have any movies handy? Tom Cruise is pretty cute even if he is old.
If money was no object and you had 3 weeks of vacation what would you do with your time?Give me a warm beach and hot man and I couldn’t give a rat’s ass where I am.

Love the character profile, I was skimming and think this was you, had to do a double take and re-read. Sounds good.
Sounds full of adventure and no doubt sexy too by the look on the cover. Would like to try this series when I can make a space!!
