Tuesday Intro/Teaser

First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros is a weekly meme hosted by Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea every Tuesday. To participate share the opening paragraph or two of a book you've decided to read based on that paragraph. Please feel free to join in, First Chapter~First Paragraph~Tuesday Intros.

"That doesn't sound like a school trivia night," said Mrs. Patty Ponder to Marie Antoinette. "That sounds like a riot." The cat did not respond. she was dozing on the couch and found school trivia night to be trivial. "Not interested, eh? Let them eat cake! Is what you're thinking? They do eat cake, don't they? All those cake stalls. Goodness me. Although I don't think any of the mothers actually eat them. They're all so sleek and skinny, aren't they? Like you." Marie Antoinette sneered at the compliment.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of  Should Be Reading.

Should I call the police? wondered Mrs. Pounder out loud, but then she heard a wail of siren in the distance, at the same time as a woman on the balcony began to scream and scream.

So many people loved this book, but I'm one of the few that didn't. I've tried Moriarty 3 times now and just can't make myself like her. Too much mommy politics and too many irritating characters for me. I'll be interested to see what you think!

The Teaser really caught my attention. Want to try this author so badly. Wish I would have time before the new year, but I don't think so.
