Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. Melanie loves school. She tells her favorite teacher all the things she'll do when she grows up. Melanie doesn't know why this makes Miss Justineau look sad.
This story is hard to describe and is best not knowing much about it before reading/listening. It is gripping, amazing with many "that so did not just happen" moments. It is dystopian with suspense, wrapped up in an emotional ending that makes you want to read it all over. Brilliantly narrated by Finty Williams.
This complimentary review copy was received thankfully from Mitch and Hachette Audioand in no way influenced my review of this book. These are my personal thoughts and reactions to the reading of the book.

From that blurb I am all confused and want it
I don't read a lot of dystopia but you've made me curious about this book.
Wasn't it awesome?? Who knew there could be something unique in this genre?
Now you have me intrigued! I was poised to order this as one of my birthday books, but had the misfortune of reading a couple of less than stellar reviews on Goodreads. I am now anxious to read it; I like the occasional dystopian.
Also I need to not read too many Goodreads reviews from people I don't follow. Seems too many reviewers have a chip on their shoulder or something and give borderline nasty opinions.
Sounds good!
I am not sure it is for me, but just the short blurb really entices a reader in!
I am totally curious now! I need to know :)
