Even though this book is part of a long running series, I was not lost or confused. It was easy to jump right into the world of Fool's Gold and be carried away into the character's lives. I normally do not like "fake" relationship plot devices, but this one worked.  A perfect book to escape into for a few hours.  This is my second Susan Mallery book and will not be my last!
