What Are You Reading?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week.

It is crunch time with just a few days before the wedding. Last week I would have guessed that I had not time to read, but did manage to find the time.

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

The Life List by Lori Nelson Spielman
This is perfect when you need a feel good, happy ending book! Did you ever make a list of goals, wants, wishes when you were young? Still have that list? Brett made such a list and unbeknownst to her it was found and kept by her mother. After her death, Brett's mother encourages her to fulfill the list. Brett, devastated at the request, sets out on a quest to do as her mother asked. An emotional, funny journey with a predictable, but satisfying ending. A nice summer read.

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
This is Beautiful Disaster told in Travis' voice with a little bit of added info because we are in Travis' mind instead of Abby's.  I look forward to his brother's stories.

Family Pictures by Jane Green
Family dysfunction at its finest!  Sylvia and Maggie are married to the same man.  Eve, Sylvia's daughter, goes to NY to visit and meets Grace, Maggie's daughter.  Eve is invited home with Grace and sees the family pictures.  Another great summer read.

Beckman by Grace Burrowes
Book 4 in the Lonley Lord Series (stands alone well).  Beckman and Sara are both running away from their pasts.  They meet when Beckman is sent to this family estate to put it back in order.  Sara is the housekeeper.  Their love story is sweet and very enjoyable.

Up Next:
Looking  For Me be Beth Hoffman
The Apple Orchard by Susan Wiggs
The Look of Love by Bella Andre

The Lavender Garden by Lucinda Riley
Dark Tide by Elizabeth Haynes

I hope you enjoy the Apple Orchard. I tried one Jane Green book but didn't like the style!

I thought the Apple Orchard was pretty good!

The Lavender Garden needs to go on my list I think. My mom and I I are going to a lavender festival this week, it would tie right in. ;)

The Life List looks awesome--kind of like Joy for Beginners, maybe? I have The Apple Orchard on my kindle, not up to it yet. Enjoy your week of reading.

You are going to love Looking For Me. I love books about family dysfunction but probably not the ideal reading material right now so I'll just put Family Pictures on my wishlist. On the other hand, The Life List sounds like just what I need.

Thanks for visiting Nise, I hope all the wedding plans and reno work is going smoothly.
