This is how we wrung out the wet carpet we cut up and dragged upstairs in order to be able to lift up easier into the garbage can and so that the poor guy collecting that day did not hurt himself!
This next pictures is one I took of a book I read last week that really ticked me off - what a patron did not the book! The first 50 pages had every "F" word scribbled out. It got really annoying. If it bothered this person so much, he/she should have returned the book instead of defacing a book that did not belong to them!!! Since the scribbling stopped, I wonder if the book was returned after the 50 pages or they gave up and kept reading.
I also found in another book a note left by the previous reader that they really liked the book. I forgot to take a picture of the note.
What have you found in library books?
To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Photo 1 = genius!!
My grandmother was a librarian. I was taught at an early age to wash my hands before reading, not to break the spine by laying a book facedown & open. Grandma Rosa would be turning over in her grave if she knew of such ill regard for a book.!
Very clever way of drying the carpets and very thoughtful.
Very smart move with the carpet! And... that poor book! That would drive me crazy as well. How disrespectful. Here’s my Saturday snapshot post.

Too funny about the carpet pieces, lol... And how awful that someone would deface a book like that. :-(
Here is my SATURDAY SNAPSHOT post.
I'm not sure why some people think they have the right, even obligation, to enforce their moral beliefs on anyone else! It does my head in!
I'm glad you mentioned your second find - a much happier human experience :-)
My best find in an old book was a recipe for biscuits. They tasted great!
Sad, sad indeed to see a book defaced like that. And you're very considerate of the garbage man! ;)
Wow, getting that carpet out was quite a job!
What a great idea with the carpet. I'd get annoyed about someone defacing a book like that, glad someone else liked it. What book was it?
I agree with you - that person was hugely disrespectful and should have just returned the book. Now I'm curious about what book it was. :)
Love the idea for wringing out the carpet - ingenious!
How ridiculous that someone did that to a library book!
Love the truck pic! Great idea! The book... WOW.
Oh, wow, how annoying is that! I hate defacing books and consider such behavior totally abhorrent.
I have found unusual stains that make me ponder....which only reinforces my vow to always leave the book in good condition when I'm finished!
What a great way to get rid of that water!!!!!!!!! I can't believe that anyone would think it was acceptable to do that to a library book???!!!!!!!!!
If I ever need to dry carpets now I know a method. :-) I may not like the F word but I would never cross it out, even if I owned the book. I would more likely get rid of the book.
