Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Nick and Amy have been married for five years. They both lost jobs in New York and moved to Nick's hometown in Missouri. Things don't go too well - Amy goes missing one morning and story is what happened after. I may be in the minority, but I almost did not finish this book. I did not like either character. I had an idea of where it was going and just didn't care. I skimmed to the end to see how it was resolved.Full Disclosure by Dee Henderson
Ann Silver as the Midwest Homicide Investigator (MHI) drops a case into FBI Agent Paul Falcon's lap that could be just what he needs to break a case that his team has been working on for awhile now. Ann intrigues Paul and as the case goes forward they are connected in ways that are surprising (to us as readers too). It takes a bit of time to get into the story as the case slowly unfolds with twists that leave you really guessing and being so surprised. The relationship between Ann and Paul was strange and at first I was not sure I even liked them together.I liked them fine as cops, separate from each other, but their romance was very unemotional and business like. I did love the dog! This was just an okay read for me, the O'Malley and "True" series are much better. Thanks to Bethany House Publishers and LibraryThings Early Reviewers for this book.

Nick and Amy definitely aren't likable. However I thought the book was a great read.
I have heard mixed things about Gone Girl. One of my coworkers read it and had to force herself to keep going. I don't think I'd like it if the main characters are so unlikable.
I used to read all of Dee Henderson's books. They do have a kind of technical quality to the writing, maybe because of the author's own writing background.
I do want to read Legend. I meant to read it last year or earlier this year but never finished it. Everyone says it is really good but at the time I thought it was too similar to Divergent so I didn't finish it.
I haven't tried Gone Girl (and, based on your opinion, don't think I will) but I did read Full Disclosure. I think my problem with it was that the heroine was so reluctant to take a chance. I did like the case better than the romance. My Monday Report is here. Have a great week.
Like The Casual Vacancy - Gone Girl too has many differing points of view. Hope you have a good week.
I haven't been inticed to read Gone Girl.
I like Dee Henderson - sorry this one wasn't a big hit for you.
I see you are reading 50 Shades - I'll be interested in your thoughts. :-)
Happy Reading!
I know Gone Girl is a hugely popular book, but I still know practically nothing about it. Sorry to hear about the characters. Characters usually make or break a story for me.
I've only seen rave reviews for Gone Girl so it's actually kind of nice to see another point of view. At least if I do read it, I'll do so with adjusted expectations lol
Have a great week and happy reading :)
I keep going back and forth on whether to read Gone Girl or not... guess I'm not in a great hurry
Gone Girl is a book you either love or hate. I loved how the writer "played" the characters against each other; and no, I didn't like either character, but really enjoyed the book.
Have a great week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Cool list! Interested in Gone Girl... you gave a nice honest opinion, and that's great. Happy reading!
Best,

I really enjoyed Gone Girl but I can see some people not liking it. I didn't like the characters either but in this case it didn't bother me.
Gone Girl is on my wish list, but I have seen mixed reviews, you are not alone.
Have a fabulous week!!
Looks like you had a good week and a good one coming up.
ENJOY!!

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading?
I have a friend reading Gone Girl right now and she can't get through it either. She HATES the characters, which makes me disappointed and now I don't want to read it. :(
Whatcha readin' this week @ the Brunette Librarian :)
I was on the library wait list for 50 Shades of Grey for five months, checked it out, and then returned it without reading it. Isn't that terrible? LOL. I guess I just lost interest. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it.
Happy reading!
Gone Girl is definitely a strange read. I finished it and it just leaves you feeling very uncomfortable.
I hope you enjoy your books this week!
I think Gone Girl is either a love or hate read. I loved it I must admit
Wishing you a great reading week

I haven't read either of these books, but I can relate. I find it really hard to finish a book if I can't connect with any of the characters. They don't have to even be the heroes, if a villain is fascinating I will read on!
One great character can make me like a predictable book, whereas if the characters are dull, one great plot idea can't do the same.
Seems like not a too good reading week for you ... I've had those too.
I like your blip on Gone Girl. Lol. Very to-the-point and makes me want to cheer or something. I haven't read it, but I don't think I will, either. Lol. Thanks for visiting my Monday!! I really enjoyed Legend A LOT. I hope you like it, too!!!
I may check out Gone Girl since it seems pretty divisive. I hate finishing a book with a character I didn't like to begin with and it turns out the book wasn't even that great either.
It's nice to see a dissenting voice on Gone Girl. Have a great Thanksgiving :)
Yikes! Two almost DNF books??!! Not good! But I'm sure that you moved into ones that you enjoyed!
I think Gone Girl is a love it or hate it book. Sorry you didn't love it like me! :)
