I am going to try something different this year with my book thoughts. In the past, I've done posts with thoughts on a few books. I found that I missed books by doing it that way, as well as feeling like I was getting behind in posting.
So I am going to include my thoughts on the books I read, that will not get their own post, on Monday's WAYR. I hope doing it this way will keep me up-to-date on my thoughts and help me not to forget a book or two.
Books Read:
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater - A magical story about the people who live on an Island that are once a year visited by carnivorous horses that emerge from the sea. There are a few that live on the Island that are just a vicious. Also, once a year they have a race with the captured capaill uisce, and so begins the story of Puck and Sean told in alternating POVs. Lovely, touching and a must read.
3 Bears
Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson - Another page turning installment in the series. Two stories happening as Alex races the clock to find kidnapped kids, are they related, and what does it mean for our safety? This long running series is always fresh, interesting and entertaining. Can't wait to see what happens next.
3 Bears
Dark Lover by J.R. Ward - Paranormal is normally not a genre I choose, but after finding this series on so many favorite lists I decided to give the first book a try. I enjoyed it despite a few quirks that were easy to overlook.
3 Bears
Explosive Eighteen by Stephanie Plum
The Violets of March by Sarah Jio
Ellie's Haven by Sharlene MacLaren (2/2)
Reading:
The First Day of the Rest of My Life by Cathy Lamb
Up Next:
Compulsively Mr. Darcy by Nina Benneton
Promise Me This by Cathy Gohlke

I love the Alex Cross series...as soon as the books hit the shelves, I am at the bookstore buying them. I just finished reading Private: #1 Suspect. Have you read that one yet?
I am going to try the Stephanie Plum series this year - I have the first book in the series and am looking forward to reading it.
My It's Monday post can be found here.
I really have to get around to The Scorpio Races. I am glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting list! I just read my first Alex Cross book last year, and now I'm hooked.
I like your new plan for saying a few words about books that might not get a full review. I've been thinking about doing something like that, too -- I have a terrible track record when it comes to writing reviews.
Happy reading this week!
My sister loves the Alex Cross series. I have yet to try one. The Scorpio Races sounds interesting. I like the idea of a few words for books that won't be reviewed.
Thanks for stopping by! I really want to be able to get to all of the Outlander Series in Audio this year. Big Task I think!
I love the Alex Cross series! And I've been meaning to start the Black Dagger Brotherhood series for ages. Glad to hear you enjoyed it :)
I need to catch up on the Alex Cross series....have a great week!
Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST - and here’s

I'm hoping to get to The Scorpio Races in Feb, I need to be a little more restrained with review books so I can read off my bookshelves. Glad you enjoyed Violets of March.
Have a great week and happy reading :)
