Saturday Snapshot

When I visited Bremerton celebrating my 50th birthday I walked this shoreline daily searching for broken glass that had washed ashore.    I took this picture of the house we stayed in from the Bremerton to Seattle Ferry.

I found  this wonderful glass fish in Seattle to display the beach glass.

I live close to Lake Michigan and have yet to find any glass along it's shore.

To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

This is lovely Nise'! I bet you had a wonderful time in Washington. I love the Pacific Coast. So much prettier than our Gulf here.

I think glass you find around lakes are dangerous shards from some broken beer bottle left behind by thoughtless partiers. Sea glass found on the coast have been battered by the waves so that they aren't dangerous. You certainly have some large pieces though. The ones I find are usually very small...returning to sand.

The glass fish is a beautiful piece.

I've never seen any glass on the Lake Michigan shore either. I will have to look next time I'm near the beach.

Thanks Leslie.

You are so right Anne.

It is one of my favorite places to visit Kay. Glad to have a brother that lives there.

Many houses along the shoreline have glass in mesh bags and anchor them in order to season them by the tides. I thought I found the motherlode at first!!

That looks great! I've found a lot of shells but not any beach glass. It's been a while since I've been walking on the beach though. I should do that again sometime soon.

I love the fish for the sea glass. Never found any sea glass along the NJ coast but found a few pieces in Hawaii. Go figure :)

Occasionally I've found pretty glass pieces along our beaches but never thought to display them like this. Your glass fish is lovely.

My sister has a glass fish too, I love it. I think putting shells and beach glass in it is a fabulous idea! (if you can find any) Book Savvy Babe

Love the sea glass. I live on the other side of Lake Michigan and we used to find small pieces of sea glass. Not anymore. I see many people scouring the sand though.

I love your fish bowl. I've found sea glass (small pieces) on the Atlantic shore but I never found any on the Lakes either.
