TRAITORS, CAPTIVES, AND A PEOPLE'S REVOLUTION
The Theater Royal is closed for renovations, so Mr. Sheridan commissions Cat to act as his spy in revolutionary Paris. Disguised as a ballerina, Cat joins the revolution, only to find that it is up to her to save her friends when they are captured as traitors. Like the previous two books in the series, The Diamond of Drury Lane and Cat Among the Pigeons, Den of Thieves is filled with disguises, danger, drama, and, most of all, the irrepressible Cat Royal.
Julia Golding's third installment in the Cat Royal series seemed a little rushed. Cat got into too many scraps and then got out of them without much development of the newly introduced characters, a couple of which I thought were very interesting. I wonder if she will meet them again. It was still an enjoyable read.
Cat O'Nine Tails
Cat is finally living a life of luxury--and so bored she's going out of her mind. But then she and her friends are kidnapped and forced to work on a ship bound for the New World. With a mystery to solve and survival at stake, Cat must use her wits to save herself and her friends.
From the grand Assembly Rooms of Bath to the wilds of a new frontier, Cat finds she is for once quite out of her depth. All aboard, Cat's going abroad.
I loved this installment of Cat's adventures. Cat is shanghaied along with her three friends and has to survive as they travel from England to the New Colonies being forced to masquerade as a cabin boy due to a mysterious plot. The adventure is non-stop and just when you think Cat can’t get herself out of the mess she’s in, something happens and she’s off again. Looking forward to book #5, Black Heart of Jamaica’s, US release.
