Weekly Reading Wrap Up (SP/IMWAYR?)

Rainy Day Friends by Jill Shalvis #2
Lani takes a job at a family owned winery to escape her life.  After her husband's death she discovers that he married three other women. She is angry, embarrassed and heartbroken. The family is a bit intrusive, but they accept her with open arms and she feels appreciated and wanted. Things are going well until River shows up pregnant, broke and needy.  Lani just wants to do her job and not get involved, but finds herself attracted to Mark.  She agrees to a no string relationship, but things don't go as planned.  When she discovers how River is involved and exposes what Lani wants to keep secret she just wants to escape, will this wonderful family let her?.  A great feel good novel.

Unbridled by Diana Palmer
This is the author's 200th book. The last few books have been just meh for me, but this one was much better.  John is a Texas Ranger that is too dedicated to his job at the expense of his son. Sunny is a nurse working hard to get herself out of her bad neighborhood where her mother and brother were killed. The case that John is working on brings him to the hospital where they meet. Will their secrets get in the way of their relationship or worse get one of them killed? Even though this books is part of a long running series, it stands alone well.

Rock Wedding by Nalini Singh #4
Book four in the series is about the last band member Abe.  Both Abe and Sarah have had their share of heartbreaks that lead to their break-up. After Abe gets sober and Sarah dumps her abusive boyfriend, they get a second chance.  Sarah is rightly apprehensive and wants to protect herself from heartbreak.  Abe is understanding and is willing to do whatever she needs to see that he has made a lasting change.  Justine O. Keef narrated their story that takes you on an emotional ride, but is a great conclusion to the series.

Last week we thought fall had arrived, but then summer came back.  We will have that same pattern this week in reverse. Crazy.

I swear I'm going to try a Shalvis book one day.

We haven't seen any fall weather but they're saying Michael could cool things off. I don't mind the heat but the humidity is killer.

We're deep in October gray, gloomy and cool days. I could use a burst of sunshine and heat. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
