Mackenzie Cooper had no idea where she was or, more critically, why she hadn't already arrived. Her navigation screen said she was still on the right road, in the right town, but all she could see were woods left and right and a curve of macadam ahead. The turnoff was to have been five minutes past the cafe in the own center, and they had easily gone ten. During that time, she hadn't seen anything remotely resembling a turnoff, much less the red mailbox that allegedly marked it, although a red anything would have been easy to miss. The fall foliage was a tangle of fiery shades, its leaves crowding the roadside like families at a parade.
Before And Again by Barbara Delinksy
She never saw the stop sign hidden by leaves of the same color, never saw the van speeding at her from the right. She felt the terrifying jolt of impact, heard a high-pitched scream from the back seat and would have blindly reached for Lily if the SUV hadn't reached into a spin that defied gravity.

Great beginning and teaser. This sounds like a book I would enjoy. This week I am featuring Wild Hunger by Chloe Neill. Happy reading!
It's been quite a while since I read a book by Barbara Delinsky (or I think it has). I used to read her books years ago when she wrote for Harlequin. This one sounds really good and I own a copy. Enjoy!
Oh my goodness - what a dramatic start to the story! I've regularly had nightmares about being in a car accident - and they feel uncomofortably like that... I hope you enjoy this one:)
I loved this book! I hope you are enjoying it.
Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “WHISTLE IN THE DARK”
Great beginning paragraph! I like this author although it's been a couple of years since I've read one of her books. Enjoy.
I loved what you shared and would keep reading.
I like how the opening led right into the scene for your teaser. I'd like to read this one.
My TT from Ivy Feckett Is Looking For Love
This sounds like a really great read, I've never read from this author. Have a great day.
Nice opening! I already have this on my wish list. Can't wait to pick it up soon!
