Weekly Reading Wrap Up (SP/IMWAYR?)

Beach House For Rent by Mary Alice Monroe #4
Cara has experienced a devastating loss.  She just want to spend time in the beach house that was her mother's and now belongs to her.  Unfortunately it is being rented for the summer and the tenant is unwilling to leave early.  Heather has been commissioned to paint shore birds that will end up on stamps. She is suffering from PTSD and this is a huge step for her. When Cara's situation become dire, Heather asks her to move in with her and together they find friendship, healing, hope and courage to take the next step. Love this series and look forward to returning.

The Summer That Made Us by Robyn Carr
Sisters Lou and Jo spent wonderful summers together at their family lake house until the year everything changed. Each sister had three girls and they were the best of friends. Now thirty years later Meg is sick and want to spend the summer at the lake house. Her sister Charley works to make it happen. When their cousin Krista recently paroled joins them, Meg gets the idea to reunite the family. The last thirty years unfold as the story progresses. Wonderful, emotional story of family, forgiveness, and second chances.

Tips For Living by Rene Sharfansky
Nora's divorce was three years ago and she is close to putting her life back together working as a columnist for the local paper with a few friends until her ex-husband and new wife move to town.  Shortly after moving to town Hugh and Helene are found murdered and Nora becomes a suspect.  She is pretty sure that she did not commit the murders, but her childhood sleepwalking has returned and she can't remember.  The pages turn quickly as the murders are solved.  A good debut that gets off to a great start, slows down a bit in the middle, but ends well.

Bad for You by J. Daniels (audio) #4
Sean aka Stitch upbringing is tragic and has led to some poor life decisions.  He is working on rebuilding his life for his two little girls. Shayla works as a waitress for extra money to get her salon up and running.  She has had a crush on Sean for awhile, but he has not encouraged her, until he can't ignore his attraction. When Shalya needs help Sean steps up and is there for her. Shayla sees the good in Sean and will do whatever it takes for him to realize it. Book three in the Dirty Deeds series narrated by Kate Russell and Sebastian York was emotional and heartwarming, it grabbed me and wouldn't let go.

Necessary Risk by Tara Wyatt (audio) #1
Sierra is a spokes person for Choices, an organization for women's reproductive health.  When she is threatened, she hires a security firm to keep her safe as she travels around. Their attraction is immediate. The culprit is easily figured out.  What made this book a miss for me was the narrator Zoe Hunter.

Thank you for all your good wishes last week.  I am feeling much better.  We had a nice warm up but now are experiencing a ice storm.  Hopefully by the end of the week spring will finally arrive.

I've read the first two books you have in this post and really enjoyed both of them. Yikes an ice story. Brrr.

Stay safe - ice storms are the worst. I love everything Mary Alice Monroe writes.

You've got some good ones here. I want to read the first three you listed. Have read others my Monroe and also by Robyn Carr. And I think I got that Tips For Living as an Amazon First or something like that. Glad you're feeling better. Sorry about the ice. Surely spring will come soon. We are having banner crops of wildflowers, but it's still be pretty cool temps for us. Normally, we've had multiple days of over 90 by this point. I think this year we've had one several weeks ago.

Mary Alice Monroe gave a presentation here on the island last month, but my name didn't come up in the ticket lottery. I enjoyed the first two Beach House books and hope to get to this one eventually.
