The People vs Alex Cross by James Patterson #25
Alex is on trial for allegedly killing two unarmed people and seriously wounding another. All the evidence is stacking up against him and he worries for not only himself but his family. The video of the shootings seem irrefutable until a break comes from an unexpected person. While on leave he has gone back to private practice and his former partner consults with him on a kidnapping case. When the father of one of the kidnapped girls comes to Alex, he can't turn him away and gets involved. Fast-paced with plenty of action and a few twists that kept me turning the pages.
Surrender to the Highlander by Lynsay Sands (audio) #5
Neils Buchanan's sister persuades him to visit her best friend Edith when she doesn't hear from her for weeks. When Neils and his brothers arrive at Drummond they find Edith sick unto death. When it is discovered that she is being poisoned and that the death of her father and brothers are due to the same, Neils takes charge. His brothers help in the investigation but he takes over the protection of Edith personally. They are led on a chase while figuring out who is to blame for the killing of her family and attempt on her life. Sean William Doyle narrated this hilarious at times novel with a brogue that kept the ear buds on! Look forward to the next book in the series.

Anya's bar tending job is not easy, but she needs to protect herself and working at this biker bar is what she needs to be doing. Reaper the MC's enforcer, does not want her working as there is something about her that keeps snagging his attention. His brothers can see what he doesn't. When Anya supplies the information that they need to rescue a woman that has been kidnapped, Reaper's distrust intensifies and he sets out to watch her closely. Anya finds herself afraid of him, but feeling safe in his presence. When they attempt a relationship their chemistry burns the pages. This is a gritty, raw story and it's subject matter of abuse, violence and intimidation may not be for everyone. These deeply flawed, tortured characters rise about their upbringing to try and find redemption.
Love Me By Christmas by Jaci Burton
Ellie's husband died right before Christmas when she was pregnant with their son. She made it through with the help of her brother-in-law Nick. He was there for her every step of the way and now five years later she finds herself looking at him in a different way. Little does she know Nick returns those feelings, but each feels like they may be holding the other back from moving forward. A few misunderstandings add humor and a little frustration. This enjoyable second chance at love short audio was narrated by Samantha Cook.

March Madness has been indeed 'mad' this year. So many upsets! Haven't a clue who will eventually win!

Nice variety of books. Judgment Day caught my attention but might be too gritty for my current tastes. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
