Weekly Reading Wrap Up (SP/IMWAYR?)

Haunted by James Patterson and James O.  Born #10
Detective Michael Bennett is at the end of himself dealing with a devastating circumstance with his oldest son.  He and the family decide it is time for a get away and rent a house in Maine. A former partner lives there and has asked Michael for help on just one thing.  That one thing turns into a major case that is what he needs to get his mind off Brian.  His relationship with Mary Catherine takes a huge step. It will be interesting to see where that goes as well as what happens with Brian.  Another great read in this series.

Detective Cross by James Patterson (Bookshot) #24.5
Alex has been suspended and is back to private practice.  His wife the new CODs gets a call early one morning warning her of a bomb.  When the bomb goes off with little damage another threat is called into Bree.  Alex's patient has experience with IEDs and helps them both out.  A quick interlude read as we wait on what will happen to Alex as he goes to trial.

A Pound of Flesh by Sophie Jackson (#1) audio
Kat suffered a tragic event as a child - she was with her Senator father when he was killed. It has understandably impacted her life and she made a promise that she is working on fulfilling.  She has become a teacher at the prison. She enjoys this job and is surprised by her attraction to one of the inmates.  It is as if she has known him forever, but how can it be?  Carter was forced to attend this class as it will go a long way towards his parole. He immediately recognized Kat and wonders how she ended up here. As their attraction grows, neither can deny what is happening but the cost is high to both of them.  Grace Grant narrates this second chance love story very well. Look forward to see what happens with Kat and Carter next.

Love and Always by Sophie Jackson (#1.5) audio
Now that Kat and Carter can be together freely they waste no time in planning their future together.  Her family still has issues with Carter and try to intervene. Carter is back to the business that was almost taken from him by his cousin.  Their wedding may be delayed by a friend. A quick novella in this series read by Grace Grant.

The Ones Who Got Away by Roni Loren
Scarred by a high school shooting tragedy 12 years ago, Liv and Finn are back for the filming of the documentary. They are stunned by the attraction that is still there.  Will this wounded couple find their way back to each other?

The last few weeks of 2017! I am close to my reading goal for the year and may even go over a bit. The next few weeks are always busy but there will be time to squeeze in some reading here and there.  Taking a quick trip to Florida for my brother's wedding this weekend.  Nice time to be going as winter will finally arrive later in the week.

Nice assortment of books. I haven't ever read a book by Patterson which seems hard to believe seeing how very prolific he is. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Well done for closing in on your reading goal! I'm chasing mine still but will hopefully get there! I keep meaning to pick up Alex Cross - I've read one or two but wanted to try the series again from the beginning. Looks like you've been enjoying Patterson.

Hope you a good week and enjoy your next reads!

Congrats on honing in on your reading goal. I'm heading to warmth for Christmas this year, and I'm really looking forward to it, as winter mean cold rain around here.
