Weekly Reading Wrap Up

No Other Duke Will Do by Grace Burrowes

Elizabeth and her sister are sent to a house party with the express intent that one or both of them will find a husband. Elizabeth would rather spend her time in the manor's extensive library. The Duke is avoiding the ladies of the house party and his sister's goal to get him married off. Elizabeth and Julian forge a friendship that can't go any further for many reasons. Despite what is stacked against them will they find a way?  It was a joy to read as Elizabeth and Julian worked out a way to be together with secondary characters that also lit up the pages.

Secrets of the Tulip Sisters by Susan Mallery
A great story of 3 women- 2 estranged sisters on a best friend. All three with secrets that get them all twisted and tangled but work hard to get it all straightened out. Olivia and Kelly have been estranged since their parents break-up.  Olivia is back in town and Kelly is willing to work on their relationship.  Kelly's best friend Helen is supportive of them both working it out, but her secret could blow everything up. A warm, funny engaging story that kept me turning the pages.

Exit Strategy by Steve Hamilton (#2)
Nick Mason is back trying to figure a way out of the situation he is in:  when the phone rings do what is asked no questions asked.  He is determined to find a way out of this mess and keep his daughter safe. He is tasked with finding witnesses who will be testifying against his benefactor and killing them.  When the first ones doesn't go as planned Nick has to scramble to figure things out. Fast paced, plenty of action with an ending that leaves you wondering what is in store for Nick next.

The Cuban Affair by Nelson DeMille (audio)
Action, adventure, suspense with lots of humor made this a non-stop listen for me. Brilliantly narrated by Scott Brick More thoughts on Friday.
