The Dark Lake by Sarah Bailey (#1)
Gemma is a homicide detective in a small town. A body is found in the lake close to the high school - she and her partner are assigned the case. The body is identified and despite Gemma knowing the victim she is determined to find the killer. Gemma struggles with keeping her many secrets while working on the investigation. The character driven debut kept me turning the pages even though Gemma was a hard character to like. As this is the first in a series, I will pick up the next book.
Perfect Gravity By Vivian Jackson (#2)
Action-packed, page turner that has Angela questioning everything she has worked for since she was a young woman. She sacrificed so much for a government that she believed in that has seemingly betrayed her. With Kellen's help she will get to the truth. It is easy to get immersed in the post apocalyptic world of Angela and Kellen. Spotlight tour with giveaway on Friday.
Where Dead Men Meet by Mark Mills (audio)
David Linski narrated this fast paced story of Luke Hamilton - a young man in Paris right before WWII. Luke just learned that a nun in the orphanage where he grew up was killed. He has plans to go to the funeral until he is the victim of an assassination attempt. Sure it is a case of mistaken identity, he doesn't believe Borodin when he tells Luke he is in danger. On the run Luke is trying to figure out who is after him and why. An exciting thriller with many twists that kept me listening.

The Dark Lake sounds good...and so does Dangerous Minds. I am way behind on Evanovich's books.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a great week!
Ha "thrown to the curb" I was just picturing her hitting her head when I realise it was figurative. Sounds like a good read.
I didn't love the book Wicked so I've avoided the play but everyone tells me they're very different. I'm glad you enjoyed the play. The end of the year has really snuck up on me!
I think I'd like The Dark Lake too - I need to look for it.
These all sound like good stories. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
How awesome you got to see Wicked!
The Dark Lake looks so good! I can't believe we are at the end of October either - the year has flown by!
I like the looks of DARK LAKE.
ENJOY your books and your reading week.
