Tuesday Inro/Teaser

First Chapter First Paragraph Tuesday Intros is a weekly meme hosted by Diane at Bibliophile by the Sea every Tuesday. To participate share the opening paragraph or two of a book you've decided to read based on that paragraph. Please feel free to join in, First Chapter~First Paragraph~Tuesday Intros.

The Drowning Pool
Libby
Again! Again! The men bind her again. Different this time; left thumb to right toe, right thumb to left. The rope around her waist. This time, they carry her into the water. "Please," she starts to beg, because she's not sure that she can face it, the blackness and the cold. She wants to go back to a home that no longer exists, to a time when she and her aunt sat in front of the fire and told stories to each other.

Into The Water by Paula Hawkins

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Ambrosia of The Purple Booker

"How many have died there? I mean in total?" "Since when?" he asked, shaking his head again. "How far back would you like to go?"

Hmm, interesting quote. I've been curious about Into The Water.

I'm not sure I could handle this one. It sounds pretty rough.

I want to read this one although I've heard mixed opinions of it. The opening sounds pretty intense.

I might be one of the only people who wasn't crazy about The Girl on the Train. And with a TBR pile of 30 books, I think I'll pass on Hawkins' new one.

I want to read this and actually listened to a bit on audio but decided the audio was a bit tough to follow, will try print. Hope you are liking it.

I ended up passing on Into the Water because I couldn't deal with so many narrators at that time. It might be one of those I go back to later though. I've been able to do that and had better luck the second time around. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
