Too Scot To Handle by Grace Burrowes (#2)
Anwen is tired of being coddled. As a child, she had a health scare and her family still watches over her. She loves helping out the boys at the orphanage and is frustrated when finances are strained to the point that it may have to close. No one seems to take her concerns seriously except for Colin, her sister's husband. Colin is in town as a recent military man now learning his place in society and not liking it at all. Anwen asks for his help and he is more than happy to help with the boys. As they get to know each other and work out ideas to help the orphanage's finances a romance blossoms. The obstacles they have to overcome are aided by the boys. As always the author delivers an entertaining story, a strong heroine, an understanding hero with humor, action and a HEA. Look forward to Elizabeth's story.

Malcolm and Seraphina's marriage had them at odds before they had a chance. After three years Sera is back and wants a divorce. Malcolm is willing to grant it if she helps him choose another wife as he needs an heir. She agrees and to help her keep her resolve she hauls her four sisters along to his estate. Malcolm discovers he is still in love with Sera and sets out to win her back. No easy feat as the sisters are protective of Sera. After a series of events, he discovers that in order for her to trust him again he has to let her go. Will this be the worst mistake of his life or the best? This story was heartbreakingly emotional with a hero that was hard to get behind in the beginning. Loved the Dangerous Daughter's aka Spoiled Ss' support and love for their sister. These two had to work hard for their HEA.
On The Chase by Kate Ruggle (#2)
Kaylee has a date with a guy she hopes is her prince charming, finally! She is nervous to be meeting his uncle on the first date, but he seems to want to make her feel comfortable. While there she gets lost on the way to the rest room and sees something she shouldn't. Her friend helps her to disappear when she finds out how dangerous Noah's family is. She finds herself hiding out in a small town in Colorado with Jules (from the previous book) and her siblings. While getting used to her new life she has a hard time not looking over her shoulder. Jules 'boyfriend is a search and rescue cop and his best friend Hugh is suspicious of "Grace". He is on leave due to an injury and as too much time on his hands. When his life is threatened, Grace is sure Noah's Uncle has found her, and eventually tells Hugh, Jules and Theo why she is hiding out. There is a lot of humor, action and near misses as they get to know each other. Grace/Kaylee fights the attraction a bit as she hopes to return to her life in California, but can't resist Hugh's charm. I liked this second installment better than the first and look forward to the next story.
*Thanks to Sourcebooks/NetGalley for this copy*Chasing Red by Isabella Ronin
College basketball star Caleb is tired of the same old party scene when he sees a gorgeous girl in a red dress dancing by herself. Veronica (Red) has just lost her apartment and is trying to distract herself for a few hours. They rescue each other from attempted pick ups. Caleb realizes that she needs a place to stay and offers his spare room. Red is desperate enough to accept in exchange for cooking for him. She is trying to stay in school and does not want to be Caleb's latest conquest. She tries to discourage his pursuit, but he has found someone he wants to have a relationship with and will do what it takes to convince her. Red has trust issues that became tedious at times. A friend from Caleb's past also reeks havoc that Red uses as an excuse to distance herself from him. Quite a bit of drama ensues, but I kept reading. When Red decides she is willing to take a chance it may be too late.

A quick, enjoyable listen narrated by two seasoned romance pros. The emotions are spot on, never overdone or syrupy. Secondary characters Jensen and Sara added to the story and I hope will get their own stories soon.
The Sunshine Sisters by Jane Green (audio)
Three sisters raised by a Hollywood mom have been asked to return home and spend some time with their ailing mother. All their lives she has had something wrong with her and they felt it was because she was self-centered. As the girls Nell, Meredith and Lizzy gather beside their mother their sad, dysfunctional stories are told. At times it is hard to like these characters, but yet understandable as how they were raised is uncovered. Ronnie is asking something of her daughters that would be exceptionally hard. While the cover makes this book look like a beach read it is far from that and would make a great club selection. This book was read by the author.

It was almost entertaining to watch our tree being removed earlier in the week. I did find myself feeling sad that this gorgeous blue spruce had to go, but it was becoming dangerous for our neighbors and another storm may have toppled it over on them. Wow, did it smell nice for a day or two as well.

I enjoyed The Sunshine Sisters...
So sad about the tree. But trees do present problems in storms.
Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Mmm love that smell of cut wood. You had a great reading week and there are some I want to try. I will certainly get to the Jane Green, I wonder what she was like as a narrator, some authors do it well others not so much. Love Joshily Jackson reading hers for instance. I must read a Sarah MacLean too.
Very nice selection of books. I have Katie Ruggle's books in my Amazon cart. Waiting for my self imposed book budget to roll over and plan to grab one or two then!

It is hard to see a beloved tree go sometimes, but yeah if they're a falling danger it's tough. I'll bet it did smell very good! Love spruce. Hope you're having a good weekend . Watching Game of Thrones tonight?
oh I hope you enjoyed these. I did like The Day of the Duchess. And Tycoon is on my list, since I love Katy Evans.
I have "The Day of the Duchess" sitting right here by my computer! It came in a subscription box this month and I wasn't so sure about starting it (these sorts of historicals aren't usually my thing), but your thoughts make me want to pick it up!
That was a beautiful tree but they can be hazardous. I hope you enjoy your new books. I still haven't read a Katie Ruggle book but I have her on my tbr. I hope you have a great week!
Chasing Red has a pretty cover. Come see what I'm reading.
Lots of great books! I'm looking forward to reading some of them myself. I hope you have a wonderful week :)

The Sunshine Sisters looks good; off to add it to the TBR.
Glad to know that Jane Green reading her own book worked. It's always sad to see a tree go, but sometimes we don't have a choice.
I've never heard of any of these books but I hope you enjoy them!

I've been wanting to reading Katie Ruggle's series for awhile. I haven't had a chance. I liked the Sunshine Sisters, but you're right the cover makes it look more like a beach read and it's really not. Have a great week!
Nice assortment of books. I liked On the Chase too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
Good choices-- I like the sound of the Grace Burrowes one! Enjoy the week...
I cannot wait to listen to On the Chase! Yes, sometimes we have to remove trees and it makes me sad too. I wish it wasn't so expensive to move them.
I can always count on you for great romance recommendations. We had to have a Pine removed this summer and when it hit the ground the who house shook. Fascinating!
