I think might be my favorite word. You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this. Swept along by the ride of commuters, Paige Walker followed her two friends Eva and Frankie up the steps from the subway and emerged to blue skies and sunshine. Far above her the skyscrapers of Manhattan reached up to fluffy clouds, a forest of steel and glass winking in the bright morning sunlight, each competing to be taller than the next. The Empire State Building. The Rockefeller Center. Higher, bigger, better. Look at me. Paige looked and smiled, Today was the day. Even the weather was celebrating.
Sleepless in Manhattan by Sarah Morgan (#1)
"You should clear your desk today," Cynthia said, "We'll give you a severance package of course."

Great description of a beautiful, sunny day in NYC. Sounds like the character is on top of the world. I'd keep reading to get to know her better.
My Tuesday post features Letters From Paris.
The first paragraph tells me something wonderful is about to happen and then the teaser says something different. I think there's a good story in here. I want to read.
I am very eager to read this one. I read a Sarah Morgan book a couple years ago and loved it.
I like the setting and am curious for more. Hope you enjoy this one and Happy New Year.
Great start on this one. Sounds like she's in for adventures -- good and bad. Here's Mine
Sounds like dashed hopes there. I'd keep reading based more on the teaser and the title than the opening. Hope you enjoy it.
That description reminds me that visiting New York City is on my bucket list. Great title and cover too.
My TT from Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children
I love books set in Manhattan, so that fact would draw me in...and then I enjoyed the excerpts. So I want to know more!
Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I've been thinking about picking this one up. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like there was a little reversal of fortune in between the beginning and the teaser! And it was nice to see a description of NYC's shine that came from nature and not from neon. :O)
O my Gosh, "clear your desk". interesting
I bought this book a year or two ago because I love the title and cover. However, I didn't care for the story, and if memory serves me correctly I never finished the book, I hope you enjoy it much more than I did.
Thanks for visiting my blog today, it's been awhile. I am going to try to be more regular at blogging this year. Oh well, that is what I'm telling myself now. LOL...
The setting sounds marvellous. Belated happy new year to you!
I'm not familiar with this author, but I do enjoy fiction set in NYC.
