Weekly Reading Thoughts (SP/IMWAYR?)

The Singles Game by Lauren Weisberger   (audio)
Charlie is an up and coming tennis star when she is seriously injured in a game after her shoes were ruled against the dress code, and had to borrow a pair.  Surgery and then months of rehab and training are ahead of her.  Many of her advisers including her coach recommend she retire. Since she is determined to meet her goals, she hires a shark of a coach, that has only coached men in the past and sets out to change her reputation on the way to becoming #1.  I enjoyed Charlie's rise in the tennis world. The secondary characters added much to the telling of her comeback. Heather Lind did a great job narrating Charlie's desire to become #1, but struggling with what her advisers expect.

The Greek's Christmas Bride by Lynne Graham
A quick, predictable but enjoyable Christmas read.  More on the tour.

Didn't get much reading time with the weekend holiday. I did something that I haven't done in years... shopping on Black Friday. It was not as bad as I was expecting, but didn't accomplish much. With being gone all next week it is going to be interesting trying to get all my shopping done. Good thing I work good under pressure.

Up Next:
Deep Dark by Laura Griffin
A Bravo For Christmas by Christine Rimmer
City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong
Reckless Creed by Alex Kava

I didn't brave Black Friday but did go to the mall on Saturday, and it wasn't as crazy bad as I was expecting. Still have lots left to get though. :(

Hope you like City of the Lost. I thought it was pretty good.

I don't "do" Black Friday, but I go the day after, hoping for sales lingering and in many cases, they do.

I enjoyed City of the Lost and Deep Dark, and the first one in the Creed series, forget name.

I forgot you were going away so enjoy the trip and hope you get some reading done, though knowing you, you will :)

Well done on the shopping front. I'm a bit like that - I work better with a deadline!

Am eyeing off Reckless Creed. Is it a new one? I've read others in the series but wasn't aware there was a new one coming out!

You brave soul, going out on Black Friday. I need to wring my husband's Christmas list from him so I know what to get him. I still have about half my Christmas shopping to do, but, overall, I know what I need. That's over half the battle, right?

I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, Nise'. Enjoy your week!

Hmm The Singles Game kinda appeals to me so went over and put it in my wish list at Audible. Very brave of you to go out into the sales shopping!

I did not go to the stores on Friday. But glad you survived. I've got that Kelley Armstrong on my list too.

We all avoided the stores on Black Friday this year (too many people!), although we did shop a little on Saturday.

I almost picked up The Singles Game but figured it was chick lit so I didn't. I want to get to it soon after reading your thoughts.

I didn't get to read as much due to the holidays as well. I am not brave enough to go shopping on Black Friday but I did score some deals online!

Since my holiday travel plans were derailed and I had no need or desire to shop, I got a lot of reading done. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I don't do Black Friday either. My nieces had a blast, but getting up as early as they did, I am not sure how they made it through the day. :)

Nice week.

Enjoy this upcoming week.
