Weekly Reading Thoughts

Magic Binds by Ilona Andrews (#8)
This is such a hard book to talk about as much of it may be spoilers. Kate and Curran are one of my favorite fictional couples and I will say that this book advances their relationship! Kate has know that a showdown with Roland, her father, must come and this installment (next to last?) advances that certainty. Kate does struggles with some choices and urges that had me gripping the book tighter.  Some new revelations were also unwrapped in this book, I am so glad I took a chance on this series when I first waded into urban fantasy/paranormal/shifter books.

Beneath this Ink by Meghan March (#2) (audio)

Vanessa is hoping to take over running her family's charitable foundation.  A step to make that happen is getting Con to donate heavily to the foundation.  Sounds easy right?  Van and Con have a history that goes back two years. Con says he will donate if Vanessa will give him another chance at a relationship.  She quickly agrees figuring he will get tired of her and she can impress her uncle enough for him to turn over leadership.  Con has his reasons for wanting another chance with her.  He is also in an ongoing investigation of what really happened to his parents. Meanwhile, Vanessa is being blackmailed to keep her budding relationship with Con quiet.  As the heat and suspense ramp up, it becomes clear that somehow everything is related. Arni Arndt and Sebastian York narrated the alternating voices of Vanessa and Con. Sebastian is a favorite narrator and Arni was new to me, but definitely will look for other books she has narrated.

I really need to read Nora Roberts because I never have and people say such good things about her books. Will have to look out for next time I'm at the library.

I'd like to read Arrowood, too. Cold, but dry for trick-or-treaters here tonight :)

You must be really busy - that's a slow week for you. It's warm here, too - just the way I like it.

I got Magic Binds on its release day but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I am currently wading through a stack of review books. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I agree so hard to review a series book without giving spoilers away, and unless the readers are reading the series they don't understand all the ins and outs anyway. However I think you have nailed the review and I must read this series - think I read the first one but would need to reread and then go on.

I'm late in popping around this week.

I hope you enjoy The Obsession. I did but don't always enjoy Nora Roberts' romantic suspense novels.

Have a lovely week.
