Weekly Reading Thoughts

All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda (audio)
Nicolette has come home to Coley Ridge to help her brother with their father. They want to sell the home now that their dad has moved to facility. She left and really didn't want to return due to what happened when she was a teenager. While home dealing with family issues a young woman goes missing that brings up what happened that was catalyst to her leaving. The story is told backwards which at times got a bit confusing, but was compelling enough to keep me listening as secrets and lies are revealed. This debut novel was narrated by Rebekkah Ross

An Indecent Proposal by Katee Robert (audio) #3
Olivia is determined to escape her dangerous family and make a life for her and her young daughter. When a handsome man comes into the bar Olivia is intrigued until she hears his name - Cillian O'Malley. She know she needs to steer clear of this just as dangerous family that has ties to the one she is trying to escape. Except that Cillian is just as intrigued by her, and it is hard for both of them to stay away from each other. When Olivia's past threatens her Cillian is the only one she can turn to for help. Both characters have baggage/demons they are fighting but when they come together it works, and they help each other stand up for themselves. Looking forward to more stories of the O'Malleys. Narrated by Charlotte North.

Killer Look by Linda Fairstein (#18)
Alexandra Cooper is on leave from her DA job after her kidnapping and is struggling with PTSD. Mike Chapman is called back to the City and Alexandra just can't stay on the Vineyard alone. When she arrives home she is asked by old acquaintance to look into her fashion designer father's death. She is convinced it is not a suicide but a murder. Mike and Mercer to take a closer look when things don't add up. Alex is told to stay home and out of the way, but she doesn't listen. What I love about these books besides the great characters and story line is the history of New York that is a story within the story. I didn't like how Mike treated Alex in this story and hope it doesn't ruin their budding relationship.

Surviving Ice by K.A. Tucker (audio)
Sebastian's mission was to get in an get out with a surveillance tape. When he can’t find the tape in the target’s home or business he has to get closer to Ivy, a tattoo artist to figure out where it has been hidden. This should be no problem for an ex-SEAL. Ivy’s uncle has been murdered, Ivy is a witness and has no idea that this tape exists or that it threatens her life. What Sebastian doesn’t count on is becoming intrigued, involved and invested in Ivy. Both characters are loners and their connection unsettles them both. Will Ivy discover Sebastian’s secrets, and once she does will it be the end? The story is told in the alternating voices of Sebastian and Ivy, narrated by the fantastic Sebastian York and Olivia Song.

Just Kiss Me by Rachel Gibson (audio)
Vivien has returned home to bury her mother Macy. Macy was a housekeeper for one of Charleston's richest families.  The family had two older boys that Vivien spied on as a kid. As a kid Vivien's dream was to become a movie star, a dream that came true.  While home she she gets reacquainted with Henry, the oldest of the brothers. She is surprised at how much she likes him and that they hit it off.. Henry is keeping a huge secret. When the secret is revealed Vivien leaves. Can the secret be overcome and lead to a HEA?  A fun book to read before going to bed during a busy week.

All The Missing Girls sounds good and I'll be adding Just Kiss Me to my TBR list.

Can't believe October is almost over. I am dreading the time change.

Hope you have a great week!

I think All The Missing Girls looks good. I'm not sure I would like told backwards but sounds like it was good in spite of that.

Have a great week! Enjoy the fall weather. :)

Just came from Goodreads where I noticed you had achieved a good deal in reading over the week. Hope you enjoy your audiobooks coming up, some great ones there.

I read All the Missing Girls through Netgalley. It certainly was a confusing style of writing, so I would think the audio would've made it even more so, since I remember flipping the pages back and forth to figure out what was going on. It was a good read though.

I also enjoyed The Obsession by Roberts. One of her better ones for me. Hope you enjoy the rest of your week, and your books.

I completely agree re All the Missing Girls. I almost wanted to paste the story in order because I wasn't entirely sure it did make sense. I loved the premise but it just didn't quite get there!

I wonder if All the Missing Girls would be less confusing in print.

I enjoyed All the Missing Girls...and the backwards-telling did take some getting used to, but soon I found myself going with the flow.

Fractured, a book I read recently, has a similar timeline.

Enjoy your week, and your books all look very tempting. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

Looks like you had a good listening week. I've been meaning to start reading books by Fairstein but haven't had a chance yet. I had one on audio but passed it along to a friend who has a long commute. My five minute one isn't good for audiobooks. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

Just Kiss Me looks good. I don't know if Surviving Ice sounds like the lies could be overcome.
