Prologue
It would be the first kill. The apprentice understood the years of practice, the countless targets destroyed, the training, the discipline, the hours of study, all led to this moment. The cold, bright afternoon in January 2061 marked the true beginning. A clear mind and cool blood. The apprentice knew these elements were as vital as skill. as wind direction, humiture, and speed. Under the cool blood lived an eagerness ruthlessly suppressed.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jenn/ MizB of A Daily Rhythm and hosted at Books and A Beat
When Lieutenant Eve Dallas strode into the bullpen of homicide after an annoying appearance in court, she wanted coffee. But Detective Jenkinson had obviously been lying in wait. He popped up from his desk, started toward her, leading with his obnoxious tie of the day.

I've only read the first three books in this series, but I loved the characters...and someday, I want to read more. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
Chilling prologue. I like the Teaser too, with the reference to Jenkinson's tie. This sounds like a series I'd enjoy reading.
Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog today.

I was just talking about JD Robb with a co-worker. This is one I haven't read yet. I'll have to get a copy.
This one does sound like quite a thriller! I hope that it is one that you enjoy! :)
That is one powerful prologue. I've not read anything by this author. Will have to check them out.

I've listened to the first two in this series and plan to listen to more. I'm enjoying it, although it took a re-read/listen of the first one to get me to that point. I think listening helped sway me whereas the reading didn't. Thanks for sharing!
Oh wow. This sounds thrilling. I need to get back to her books!
My TT from Fear Of The Scarecrow
I would continue reading - sounds like my kind of book and the opening grabs.
Sounds like a great book! Happy reading!

I really like the teaser. Nora Roberts is so good at setting a scene. Enjoy,
I always enjoy her books and grab them every time I see them.

I've only read the first two books in this very, very long series! I'm tempted to bypass most of them and jump in closer to the newest so that I can catch up easier. It has to be a worthwhile read because so many bloggers I appreciate really get into this series. Thanks for reminding me of it.
Sounds like a good one Nise.
