Val, Duke of Montgomery, is not your average leading man. He is a blackmailer, out for revenge with a twisted sense himself. Bridgett is his housekeeper that knows a few secrets herself and is not intimidated by The Duke, which intrigues him. He does things for Bridgett that confound him, but shows her that he may be redeemable. I loved how she stood up to him and showed him that he could be a better man. When Bridgett is kidnapped he has to decide if she is worth more to him than his need for revenge. It is great when an author takes an unlikeable character and makes me root for him. I liked it that she did not magically turn him around and he retains a bit of his roguish ways. This couple had amazing chemistry that was exceptionally translated by narrator Ashford McNab. This audio is going on my re-listen shelf!

Maya has just buried her husband Joe. She can't believe that she is going through this again. Her sister was murdered a few years ago and now her husband. She is working with the police to identify the killers as she was there with him in the park. When she returns to work a friend talks her into installing a nanny cam. When she views the footage, she is blindsided when she sees her husband visiting with her daughter. She sets out for answers and is taken on a twisty journey that ends with a "did that just happen" moment. I could not put this book down!
The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn (#1) Audio
Grace has been a companion to Dowager Duchess for five years. It has been a difficult position, but she has done a fine job. When Grace and the Dowager are held up by highway man Jack, the Dowager is taken aback at how much Jack looks like her dead son. Jack steals a couple of things from the ladies that set things in motion for a great conclusion. Jack and Grace's chemistry ignited the story with Kate Reading's excellent narration. I will definitely seek out Thomas' story.
How can August be almost over? I finally feel like I've got my reading mojo back for August. Finally having cooler weather after escaping damage from tornadoes that ripped through our area yesterday.

Were the tornadoes close to you? We had heavy rain and the lights flickered but that was about it, although the local mall and the zoo both temporarily evacuated people. Nasty stuff. Today's cooler weather was nice though. I also can't believe August is almost over!
I thought Fool Me Once was one of his better ones. I loved the ending.
Those historical audio sound great, I haven't read a Hoyt book but know she is popular. Will be interested to see what you think of Angels' Share on audio.
Fool my Once by Harlan Coben has been doing the rounds at our Book Club, will try to take it next month! Nice selection you have this week. Here's my It's Monday: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/08/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-2.html
I think you liked Fool Me Once better than I did (though I liked it). I really need to add Quick back to my reading list.
I've been meaning to read the Maiden Lane series. Glad it's still a good one at book 10!
Nice looking bunch of books. I've read and enjoyed a few of them. In fact, I just finished the Rocky Mountains Search & Rescue series this weekend. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
Gone Too Deep looks tempting...and so does the Harlan Coben. I haven't read him in a long while.
Enjoy them all, and have a great week. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I love Quick and really need to read Fool Me Once! Awesome reads :) Nise'
I am convinced the days are on warp speed as I try to backpedal away from my upcoming 50th birthday!
Good luck preparing for your son's nuptials.
I can't believe August is almost over either. It seems impossible. I wish I could say my reading mojo is back. I seem to be missing my blogging mojo too. I am glad you weren't affected by the torandoes in your area. How scary!
I've been hearing such great things about Ruggle's books. I have one on my shelf to read and really need to dive in. I liked 'Til Death Do Us Part too.
I loved Fool Me Once, as I love all Harlan Coben books.
I'm thinking of looking for With Love From the Inside but I know it will be a sad one.
Enjoy your week and the rest of the summer :)
I have A Certain Age on my list. Enjoy!
