Weekly Reading Thoughts (SP/IMWAYR?)

The Wicked Duke by Madeline Hunter #3
The third book in the Wicked trilogy is the story of Ive's and Gareth's "wicked" brother Lance. Their oldest brother Percy has died and Lance is suspected of being the killer.   He has left London to return to the Ducal home hoping that things will settle down. He meets a local family the head of which wants to climb the social ladder, and makes a deal with Lance.  Court and marry his niece and he will put in a good word with the corner making a determination on the death.  Lance has previously met Marianne and finds himself very intrigued with her.  Marianne likes Lance but is concerned about his reputation.  She will go along with her Uncle's edict because she wants to protect her cousin.  So what starts out as an arranged relationship with mutual benefits for each, turns into something else as time passes.  The identity of the killer was a surprise. A good conclusion to the trilogy.

The Fixer by Joseph Finder (audio)

Rick Hoffman starts out a bit sleazy and unlikeable, but as the story continues he redeems himself.  More thoughts on Thursday, the last day of Audiobook month.

Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon (audio) #4
Book four in the Outlander series.  Complete thoughts are here.

Up Next:
Defender by Diana Palmer
The Story of You by Beth Kephart
The Curse of Tenth Grave by Darynda Jones
Essential Maps For The Lost by Deb Caletti

Another slow reading week for me.  I have three books going, but have been so busy that I'm not reading.  I did finish two audios and got a good start on two more.  Enjoy this last week of June.  This is a big birthday week in our family.  My daughter's is Monday, my husband's is Tuesday.  I also have two great nephews celebrating Tuesday and Wednesday!

Happy birthday to your family members! Is this month flying by? I can't believe it's almost 4th of July already. I've already heard a few fireworks going off in the neighborhood.

I didn't read a lot this week either... just a slow week for that. Hope your week ahead is good!

Hope your week of birthdays is fun for all!

At least when you don't have time/don't feel like reading, you are still getting your stories with audio. I read a book by Deb Coletti last year, name escapes me at the moment. Enjoy your books this week.

We've got some birthday pile ups as well -- it makes for a festive week. I hope you enjoyed the limited reading time you had -- you still got a lot done!

You're the only one I know who'd call finishing 3 books a slow reading week! Have fun celebrating this week!

I have a slow (nonexistent!) reading week - maybe I just need a good old fashioned historical romance to pull me from my slump!!! The Wicked Duke series looks like a good place to start.

I love the Outlander series! My poor husband has been listening to me sing the praises of Jamie Fraser for years. Lol.

I'm interested in seeing what you think after reading The Story of You. I'm curious about that one. I identify completely with the busy and no time to read syndrome. Hopefully, we'll both find that downtime.

Now I had a slow reading book, only finishing one. I consider three books a good week nowadays...lol.

Happy birthday to all...and have a wonderful week.

I am curious about The Story of You. I read something by this author a while ago, and enjoyed it.
