Weekly Wrap Up (SP/IMWAYR?)

Blood Red by Wendy Corsi Staub (#1)
Rowan is a busy mom and teacher. It was great having her two oldest home from college for the Thanksgiving break. The next few weeks are going to be crazy busy before the Christmas break. With everything that is going on at work, home and with Kyle her freshman still at home, the strange anonymous gift that shows up at her house threatens to reveal secrets from her past that she would like to keep secret. As she searches out the gift giver and the motivations behind it, she has no idea she is the target of a killer. Once the gift shows up and we learn the history behind it the suspense builds up.  We get a glimpse of the killer and I was completely surprised when revealed. A good start to a new trilogy by a new to me author.

Silent Creed by Alex Cava (#2)
Ryder is asked bring his SAR dog and work a landslide in North Carolina to retrieve or rescue researchers at a DoD facility.  Since he owes a debt to the man asking, he agrees.  The area is so unstable that Ryder fears will be more retrieving than rescuing. When the bodies are pulled from the mud it is discovered they had been murdered before the landslide. FBI agent Maggie O'Dell arrives on the scene. Ryder is happy to see her, but then realizes there more going on than the research facility being destroyed by the landslide for Maggie to show up.  Both their lives are threatened to keep secrets buried and they can't get any answers from the government people who asked them to help. Ryder is determined to keep is dogs safe as they work to figure out what is really going on.  Fast paced and suspenseful with great characters.  Look forward to the next installment in this series.

By Break of Day by M.L. Buchman (#7)
The Night Stalkers are an elite group of men and women. Kara,  newly named AMC, pilots the unmanned aircraft that fly along with the team as their eyes and ears. Justin flies the Chinook helicopter. Kara's main focus is bring her team back safely every.single.time.  She is from Brooklyn and proud of it. There is just something about Cowboy Justin that gets to her, both good and bad. When they are drawn in on a secret mission, things change between them, and after they take leave together things really heat up.  The next mission doesn't go as planned and the decision Kara has to make it heartbreaking, or is it?  A great installment in this series that always delivers high intensity action and romance.

Cross Justice by James Patterson (#23) Audio
Alex Cross and family take a much needed break and visit his family in North Carolina. His cousin is on trial for murder and Alex is asked to help.  Alex is drawn into more than he planned and discovers a secret that changes his life. More thoughts here.

The Guilty by David Baldacci (#4) Audio
Government assassin Will Robie has failed for the first time and wonders if his career is over.  He soon discovers that his father, whom he hasn't seen in 20 years, is accused of murder.  Will makes the trip to Cantrell, Mississippi in an effort to get over whatever it is that has caused him to fail.  More thoughts later this week.

Boy is Jonas a mess or what? Feel bad for everyone affected. Glad we had a weekend without snow!

Blood Red looks like a good suspenseful read. And the Gudenkauf book I keep seeing nice things about too. Hope you like it.

Some great books there with authors I love. I haven't read that Alex Kava I don't think so must keep an eye out for it!

I decided against reading the latest Alex Cross though... they were starting to get a little stale for me.

I haven't read Cross Justice yet- I am a huge Patterson fan, I am currently reading Invisible by James Patterson and David Ellis and it is fantastic-though not part of a series, its terrific by itself-and I am not done reading all of it!! Also love David Baldacci, And again, haven't read Guilty- though I have read a ton of his books as well-Camel Club mostly. Great books!! Enjoy_ and we had 16 inches of snow, but am doing good here, back to work tonight LOL
