Reading Wrap Up

Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave (audio)

Georgia is at her last wedding dress fitting when she see her fiancé across the street with another woman and child. She learns that the child is Ben's daughter, a secret that he has been keeping for awhile. When Georgia returns (runs) home she discovers her family is also keeping a few secrets. As they are revealed and she decides what is next, we learn the history of her family's winery. The family pulls you into their lives and keeps you until all is resolved. A great story of family, forgiveness and finally synchronization. Narrated by Joy Osmanski.

Beyond Limits by Laura Griffin
On Navy SEAL Derek Vaughn's last mission they uncovered information that leads to the possibility of threats in the US. FBI Agent Elizabeth LeBlanc is just back to duty when she is assigned to a case in Texas. She is surprised that Derek is involved, as they met on a previous case and have been thinking about each other since. Liz is determined to keep her distance, but Derek is persistent which gives lots of great tension to the story besides the suspense and action of being one step behind who is carrying out this threat. This is the first book of the Tracers series that I've read and did not feel like I missed out on anything by not reading the previous 7 books. I do plan to go back and read them because this one was very good.

Thank You, Goodnight by Andy Abramowitz
Lawyer Teddy Tremble is in Ireland taking a deposition for a case. His former band mate leaves a message that his legacy is hanging in a museum. Teddy visits and sees the picture and is livid. He visits the photographer to let him now just how livid he is and finds that he is still a beloved artist. He finds this thought provoking and doesn't quite now how to handle the situation. He picks up his guitar after 20 years and writes a few songs. They bring all sorts of feelings out and he doesn't know if it is just a mid-life crisis or if this could be the start of a new life. He contacts his agent and producer and then his former band mates. Will this be a flop or a second chance? A funny debut that I liked, but didn't love.

Within These Walls by J.L. Berg
Lailah has a heart defect that has kept her either home or in the hospital. She has a "someday list " that she has been keeping and hopes to be able to cross off the items. One the day she is expecting to be discharged from the hospital, she meets a reassigned nurse aid, and suddenly her extended stay is looking better. Jude doesn't leave the hospital often and is surprised by his reaction to Lailah. When he finds out about her someday list, he finds ways to cross them off the list. A quick, predictable, enjoyable love story..

Glad you enjoyed Eight Hundred Grapes and I'm going to check out that Laura Griffin series, sounds like my type of read but I'd have to start at the beginning, I'm a little OCD with series lol. Keen to see what you think of At the Water's Edge too.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading Nise` :)

I would like to read Eight Hundred Grapes as everyone who has loved it!
Glad you enjoyed the Laura Griffin; I've read most by her but haven't read this one yet. Now I know I should get it :)

I enjoyed reading a review by your daughter of Michael Koryta's book, one of my go-to authors. She should help out again in the future. Wish my kids would feel the same way!
