Reading Wrap Up

I am back home after three weeks of moving my mom out of her condo in Alaska, visiting my brothers (one in Alaska and one in Seattle).  My mom came home with me to wait out the heat before going back to Florida.  It won't be much cooler here with temps in the high 80's expected.   I am looking forward to getting back to my normal reading!

Speaking In Bones by Kathy Reichs
Temperance is having a hard time with her mother's recent cancer diagnosis, her relationship with Ryan, and her daughter in Afghanistan.  She gets a call from Hazel "Lucky" Strike asking her to look at a cold case of a missing girl.  Tempe is skeptical when she finds out Lucky is involved in an amateur group of online investigators. Once she meets with her Tempe gets sucked into the case that turns out to be more than she ever expected.  We get a bit of resolution on Tempe and Ryan's relationship finally!  Interesting case that takes a few twists, with Tempe getting herself in trouble as usual.

The Courtship by Grace Burrowes
Novella that is a prequel to the Windham series which features the courtship of Percy and Esther. They meet at a house party and are drawn to each other, of course, there are many who feel Esther is reaching way above her station. It was strange to picture them as young when they have been a mature married couple for eight previous books.

The Duke and His Duchess by Grace Burrowes
In this prequel novella Percy and Esther are married with four children. Percy's past threatens their marriage, Esther is struggling with post-partum depression and wonders if it is worth the fight. A rewarding short story .

To Hard To Handle by Julie Ann Walker
Book Eight in the series of Black Knight, Inc is Dan and Penni's story. She tracks him down in Peru to talk to him and is drawn into the dangerous mission that he is on. Once they return home, their two wounded hearts make it hard to commit to each other. Plenty of action and romance..

Alaska to Florida is quite a move.

I haven't read a "Bones" book in a while but that one sounds good.

My mom loves the Bones show. I keep thinking I should buy her some of the books, but the one I read seemed to have very little in common with the show. What do you think? Enjoy your week!

Hope you are enjoying being home! I find I always appreciate it more when I have been away. Seems like the Kathy Reichs books are a bit like the In Death series in that characters lives develop from book to book. Have a great week.

Wow, three weeks of moving! One of my least favorite activities. Bet you're glad to be home! :)

I have very little desire to travel nowadays - though still dream of Italy and also Alaska. I've seen pictures of people who've been on cruises there and it looks amazing!

I like to travel and do so quite a lot within my country. I still have a bucket list to get through though!

Wow, Alaska! And Seattle, too, which is one of my favorite vacation destinations. I have loved it so much over the years, and every time I'm there, I want to live there...LOL.

Enjoy catching up....and I am curious about Speaking in Bones. I have yet to read this author...it's time!

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Nice places for travel, Nise'! I would love to visit Alaska one day, I have this image in my head of it being a bit similar to Norway :)
I hope you'll be back to your normal reading schedule soon, your new books all look enticing enough.
Have a fantastic week and happy reading.

Hope the week gets more relaxing for you. How nice that your mom can live in both Alaska and Florida :) Must be fun but a pain to travel from there to there. I guess you will be back on track though in my eyes you read more than usual, because you read many more books than I do in a week. Enjoy!

I would love to visit Alaska one day! Those river cruise things look neat.

How to Start a Fire sounds really good! I will have to check back for your review - I enjoyed the Tuesday Teaser. :)

What a long, but I'm sure fulfilling, trip. I keep telling people that I am just trying to hold on until Gage starts school on Monday. Then everyone can expect to hear from me again :)
