BOSKAR, RUSSIA
The woman’s throat had been slashed.
She must have been killed at least twelve to fourteen hours ago. The expression frozen on her face was one of horror and bewilderment as she stared up at the ceiling of this little house that she’d worked so hard to make home. There was a name scrawled in blood on the stone floor beside her body.

Your Next Breath by Iris Johansen
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jenn/ MizB of A Daily Rhythm

His hand … Something cold and metal was being wrapped around his hand.

Yikes!!! Yes, I'd read more (in daylight that is).

I've read several of Iris Johansen's books and really liked them. Is this one an Eve Duncan book or that newer series with Catherine? I want to get caught up on this author's books too. I want that on so many authors' books. LOL

Definitely sounds suspenseful! I love that cover, too. Thanks for sharing...and here's mine: “BEFORE WE MET”

The intro drew me in immediately. I'd keep reading...and reading...and reading. It sounds like one of those books you could finish in one sitting.

I haven't read any of Iris Johansen's books, but this opening is definitely intense! I'd keep reading!

I've always wanted to give this author a try. I like the opener. So intense!

She makes me sympathetic for the victim in so few words. That's good writing.

This one sounds intense! I used to always read Iris Johansen, starting with The Ugly Duckling, I think it was called and was wowed by her. Sadly I haven't read any of hers in the last few years, but enjoyed the Eve books.

The opening definitely plunges the reader into the middle of things! Now I'm curious.
My Tuesday post features A Walk in the Woods.

Oh yucky! Sounds a little like a J D Robb scene. I don't read a lot of suspense/murder as I don't really enjoy it!!
