Reading Wrap-Up/What You Reading?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week. I use this this weekly meme as a way to give short, concise thoughts on the books I've read.

Continue to keep Shelia and her family in your thoughts and prayers after the loss of their son Justin last week.

Spring break is over.  We did not have the greatest of weather, but managed to get a couple of projects finishes and ended the weekend playing with the grandson who is 10 months today!

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

Hero by Samantha Young
Alexa is an assistant to a photographer. When she shows up for work and sees the subject of the shoot, she freaks out. Normally on top of things she finds herself useless. She knows that she will have to tell Caine who she is and hopefully get the chance to apologize for her family's part in ruining his life. When she does just that, Caine leaves and gets her fired from her job. Alexa is furious that he would not listen to her apology and storms into his office. Caine offers her a job as his PA, initially to torture her, but things begin to change. Can he forgive her father's part in his past?  Will her family ever accept her for who she is rather than what her father did?

The Look of Love by Sarah Jio
After years of trouble with her eyes, countless tests and doctor visits, Jane has learned that she has a gift to see love.  A stranger tells her of this gift, gives her a challenge to see the six kinds of love and record them before her 30th birthday. The people in Jane's life become her subjects and it is interesting to see where she will place them.  This is a departure from the previous style of this author's books, and did not resonate with me as much.  It was a quick read and overall enjoyable.

The Weight of Blood by Laura McHugh
After the body of her friend is found, Lucy wants to not only know what happened to her, but what happened to her mother as well.  Her mom disappeared when she was just a baby. As she begins to uncover clues, it looks like family is involved, but she is determined to get to the truth. Told in a few voices, the story comes together in this fine debut novel.

Reading:
The Shadows by J.R. Ward
Tiffany Girl by Deanne Gist

Up Next:
Obsession in Death by J.D. Robb
His Wicked Reputation by Madeline Hunter

10 months - what a lovely age! Shame about the weather but the time together would have been nice.

Enjoy Obsession in Death. I'm a big JD Robb fan!
