Is anyone else wondering how November arrived so quickly? We had 8, count 'em 8, trick or treaters on Friday. It was a chilly 41 with high winds that made it miserable. Unfortunately that means there is way too much candy left over. Would it be wrong to turn it in at the dentist for money so I won't eat it?
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
The Good Woman by Jane Porter
Meg is the oldest Brennan sister and has always been the responsible one. She is a busy mom with three kids and a job at a winery. She has been feeling melancholy lately and just can't figure out why when things are good (mostly). She has a good relationship with her family, each of whom has issues in their lives that add to the story. Meg makes a bad decision that torments her and once it is discovered she tries to fix it. A good family saga with relatable characters. First book in a trilogy. .
Full Throttle by Julie Ann Walker
Julie is the president's daughter. Carlos works for Black Knight, Inc. Julie is kidnapped while at a conference and Carlos' group of special forces men work to rescue her. The action is full throttle with a HEA.
The Traitor by Grace Burrowes
Before the war Sebastian's mother took him to France. He was forced into service during the war as an interrogator. He has since returned to England to take his rightful place, but he is not allowed to move on and is continually challenged to duels. His beloved Aunt Freddy's companion Milly sees beyond what Sebastian was forced to do and is surprised that he sees beyond her facade. I fell in love with Sebastian in The Captive and was looking forward to his story. Grace did not disappoint!.

Going to keep an eye out for The Good woman.
I need to read The Mark of the Midnight Manzanilla. I have it checked out from the library. Hope you are enjoying it!
We had about 17 kids- my mom counted while we took the kids out. And froze our tails off. :) Man was it miserable- but the kids had fun. Just the adults suffered ha ha.
I really liked The Good Woman and the second one, now I just have to buy the third one - its $10ish so I keep waiting for the price to drop on the ebook!
I really need to give Lauren Willig a try along with Grace Burrows, heard great things about both. I hope you enjoy your reads this week.

Burrowes! :D
I really like Jane Porter so I'm glad to see you enjoyed The Good Woman. I swear I'll get to it one of these days.
I'm going to add The Good Woman to my list. We had candy left over, too. Luckily our church has a "share the bounty" event. Kids donate some of their candy and they mail care packages to students away at college... win, win situation!
I loved The Good Woman...and the rest of the trilogy. I wanted more, actually!
Thanks for sharing...and enjoy your week.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I haven't read any of your books, but I have read Jane Porter before, just not this series so I am interested in that book. Enjoy!
(I had about 100 trick or treaters!)
It was wet, windy and cold on my side of the state as well. :( I had more than 8 but less than 20, and I had bought 600 pieces of candy! Lol. I read about an organization that takes leftover candy and sends it to the troops overseas as well, if you were interested in going that route. I am thinking about doing it. (before I end up eating like 550 pieces of candy!)
We had 0 tricker treaters! Haven't had one for years. Our street has big yards and no sidewalks so that discourages kids :(
You had a great reading week, Nise'. Hope this week is as good.
We had three sets of trick or treaters, they were sweet too :)
Read on!
