Weekly Reading Re-Cap/IMWAYR?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week. I use this this weekly meme as a way to give short, concise thoughts on the books I've read.

I spend the last four days in Florida for a family party!  It was tons of fun. We stayed up too late, ate too much and all went home exhausted!

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

What I Love About You by Rachel Gibson
Natalie returned home after her husband attempted to run off with his client's money and a younger woman. While he was in prison she raised their daughter, got a divorce and started a photography business.  Blake Junger moves in next door, has a mysterious job that has him coming and going. He is determined to battle his addiction on his own, do his job and live his life by his rules.  All is going according to plan until five year old Charlotte comes over and disrupts everything.

Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers
Pastor Zeke was on his walks around town and stumbled across a newborn girl. He took her home, and is wife, despite her health issues, decided to raise her.  When Abra was 9 her mother died, she was sent to live with another couple which lead to her feeling of abandonment even though she had people in her life that loved her very much.  She just wanted to be wanted.  Handsome bad boy Dylan came to town  swept her off her feet and out of town.  The relationship took her to Hollywood of the 1950s and went very bad, but she became a star.  She finds out that what she thought she wanted was waiting back home.  An emotional story with a message.

Plaid to the Bone by Mia Marlow
Cait was sent to marry Adam Cameron, laird of Bonniebroch with a special mission.  As soon as she can, after the marriage, she is to assassinate her groom.  She is determined to fulfill her oath to her father, until she meets her future groom.  Can she go through with the oath?  This novella sets up the upcoming Spirit of the Highlands series.

Game by Barry Lyga
Book two in the Jasper Dent series.  Jazz's dad escaped prison in the last book. Jasper is wondering if what his dad asked him to do helped in the escape. He is waiting for him to begin his murdering ways.  When bodies start showing up in New York City, a detective contacts Jazz for his help.  Is this his dad? Another copycat? or something more sinister?   Jazz's friends and family are pulled into the "Game".  Questions are answered, but there are many left unanswered.  Soon everyone is in trouble. The book ends with a cliffhanger that I knew about so I didn't freak out.  Looking forward to the last book in the series.
*Thanks to Little Brown for this review copy*

I haven't read anything by Francine Rivers and I wonder if I would like her books. Must try her one day. I like Rachel Gibson but haven't read anything of hers lately although I do have one - Truly Madly Yours by her on my actual TBR shelf. Florida - you do get up and down the lines of latitude!
