Weekly Reading Recap/IMWAYR?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week. I use this this weekly meme as a way to give short, concise thoughts on the books I've read.

Hope your holiday weekend was enjoyable.
Last week we finished emptying out my in-laws house. It was a big, emotional job, but it is done. Great news!... the house is sold!  My back has suffered and will need some TLC this week.

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

The Broken by Shelly Coriell
Book number 1 in The Apostle series was a page turning thriller. Kate Johnson has been in hiding after surviving a brutal attack (the only survivor of this serial killer). FBI Agent Hayden Reed is on the case and has tracked down Kate. He has asked her to come out of hiding to help . Non-stop action with a couple of twists that kept me glued to the pages.  Look forward to the next book.
*Thanks to Hachette Book Group for this review copy*

The Troublemaker Next Door by Marie Harte
First book in the McCauley brothers series.  Plumber Flynn meets next door neighbor Maggie, who has had it with the opposite sex.  He has to tread carefully, but it willing to do what it takes.  A fun romance with great characters.

The Bear by Claire Cameron (Audio)
Anna and Alex (Stick) are camping with their parents when a bear attacks.  Their father places them in a cooler for their safety.  Anna, age 5, tells the story of what happened and how she and her brother survived. Cassandra Morris narrated.

Mercy Snow by Tiffany Baker (audio)
The town of Titan Falls has experienced a bus crash involving a youth group.  The townspeople are sure Zeke Snow caused the accident, but he has disappeared leaving Mercy to deal with the mess.  A discovery is made and the need to drive the Snow family out of town becomes a must.  Christine Lakin narrates.

Up Next:
Summer on the Short Bus by Bethany Crandell
Black Horizon by James Grippando
Pure Heat by M.L. Buchman

Happy Easter, and hope your back feels better this week. Sounds like you've been busy and that kind of thing is hard to do. Happy reading this week!

The Broken sounds amazing. I can't believe the house sold already, that is wonderful news after the emotional part.

I'm putting The Broken and Mercy Snow on my list. I am still undecided about Bear. Take care of yourself this week. A little TLC goes a long way in healing both physical and emotional pain.

I hope you had an opportunity to enjoy some of the Easter festivities, you had a great reading week. Mercy Snow sounds good. I know I always feel like how can a person feel so unwelcomed in a town, but it does happen, it doesn't even have to be a small town. Years ago there was a horrid murder in our city, and I know even the extended family felt ripple effects of the disaster. Have a good week.
