I was a moody reader last week, picking up 4 books and only finishing two of them. Spent more time listening to audios. I plan to pick the books up again and hopefully will stick with them.
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
The Redemption of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen (audio)
Book 2 in the series has Callie and Kayden moving forward in their relationship. Kayden is facing serious charges that involve Callie. Together they find the courage to be honest about what has happened to them. It was not easy getting to the place where they could tell, and I wasn't sure it was going to happen. Each of their families react in different ways, which I hope will be addressed in the next book as this book's ending was a bit abrupt. Leslie Bellair narrated
*Thanks to Hachette Audio for this review copy*Breaking Nova by Jessica Sorensen (audio)
Nova and Quinton have experienced extreme losses. Nova's boyfriend committed suicide. Quinton was driving when an accident killed two of his friends. It was easy to care for these characters and wonder how they would work towards healing. Their choices were not healthy, but they were honest and unfortunately true to life, and at times difficult to listen to. Told in alternating voices of Nova and Quinton. Stephanie Willis and Jed Drummond narrate.
*Thanks to Hachette Audio for this review copy*Cress by Marissa Meyer
The third book in the Lunar Chronicles. Cinder, Thorne, Scarlet and Wolf are on their way to rescue Cress from her satellite prison. They have a plan to stop the marriage between Emperor Kai and Queen Levana. Of course things don't go as planned, and its a wild ride. Loved it and look forward to the next book.
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (audio)
Twins Cather and Wren are off to college. How the girls got their name is central to Cath's personality. The girls have always done everything together. Wren tells Cath that she does not want to room together in college. Cath is devastated, lost, and wonders if she can do this alone. Her love of Simon Snow, the most popular fiction series ever, draws her into writing fanfic, Carry On, Simon that becomes a lifeline for her. She meets Regan, and Levi each contributes to her growth which is tender, touching, emotional, stand up and cheer wonderful. Brilliantly narrated by Rebecca Lowman and Maxwell Caulfield.
Somerset by Leila Meachman
A stand alone prequel to Roses. A family sage of how the Tolivers, Warwicks and DuMonts moved from Charleston, SC to Texas to make their fortunes. An enjoyable chunkster spanning from 1835 to 1900.
What I'll be reading next:
The Supreme Macaroni Company by Adriana Triiani
Mercy Snow by Tiffany Baker
Dangerous Women, edited by George R.R. Martin
Listening to:
The Wife, the Maid and the Mistress by Ariel Lawhon
The Bear by Claire Cameron
Fear Nothing by Lisa Gardner

You have done heaps of reading - and plenty of books on the go with audio as well. I haven't read any of the books. It never ceases to amaze me at the number of books available to read. And there are so many rereads I want to do as well! Have a great reading week.
I just finished Cinder and am starting on Scarlet, but will probably wait to read Cress until it's in paperback so I can have all of my copies match--waiting is SO HARD!
Thank you for sharing.
I've been bouncing around w/ books a bit lately- I've had some I've really liked, and then others where I start and lose interest and move on to something else.
I agree with your thoughts on Fangirl, thought it was really good and touching at times. Haven't read Dangerous Women yet although I plan to, hope you enjoy!
So many good ones there that I want :)
Ooh loved your thoughts on Fangirl, I'm going to push it back up the read list. Glad you loved Cress too, hope it's not too long before I get to it ... serves me right for accepting review books lol
Have a great week and happy reading :)
Like the story line of Somerset. Sounds really good. I've not read Roses.
Wow, that's a slow week for you! I've had little time for print and would be in trouble if it weren't for audios. I loved Fangirl too!
I loved Cress and Fangirl. I want to read that Adriana Trigiani series. I've heard good things about it.
I have 3 of your books on my wishlist but only read Fear Nothing, which I enjoyed. It's nice that you listen to a lot of audio books. I don't listen to books, can't say why really, but maybe I should consider it, so I can multi-task :) Enjoy your week.
Several of your current books are on my TBR list too. I'm looking forward to Cress. The Jessica Sorensen look promising. I haven't read any of Rainbow Rowell's but they are all over blogland, so I must get to them. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts.
I've read none of these books, but they sound good. You blow me away at how many you read in a short time. Brilliant. Have a good week.
I hope to get to my copy of Fangirl soon...and I'm adding Somerset to my list. I haven't yet read Roses, but I read Tumbleweeds by this author.
Thanks for visiting my blog...and for the congrats on my new novel.
Enjoy your week!
You had a great book week. Hope you're enjoying The Wife, The Maid and The Mistress as much as I did. Roses and Sommerset are on my TBR piles.

It looks like you have a ton of great books this week. How are you liking The Wife, the Maid and the Mistress as an audiobook?
I just posted a review for Fangirl, it was an enjoyable read I thought.
