Prologue
It was the beginning of winter, and except for the drone of the St. Bartholomew youth group's bus, Devil's Slide Road was empty, dark, and icy, the result of a late-November freeze. The children on the bus were either sleepy after the outing to the moving theater in Berlin, New Hampshire, or hyped up and distracted by the antics of their friends. The alert ones gathered in a noisy cluster at the back of the ancient yellow bus, the boys shoving and teasing, girls giggling. Up at the front, eighteen-year old Suzie Flyte sat by herself, staring silently out the grimy window at the prickly expanse of pines, birches, and oaks she knew was there but couldn't see.

Very atmospheric intro!! I would go on reading......
Here is my intro post!
AND
Here is my teaser post
I have been so curious about this one after seeing it around. Great opener. Leaves me wondering about what is going on with Suzie.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
The lines "but couldn't see" make me curious. Is she blind? Has she been crying? Because if you cry hard sometimes you can't see anything. It becomes like a rainy day in a few seconds. She's sitting all alone. Why? I would definitely read more of it. I like the title too, Mercy Snow.
I would keep reading, Nise'. I can't help but wonder who Suzie is exactly and what is troubling her. It seems like something must be . . . but I could be wrong.
this book has a great opening, I'd read on. I love the cove design as well. thanks so much for stopping by. kelley—the road goes ever ever on
I'm afraid something bad is about to happen on that bus. Here's Mine
This one is intriguing! I'd like to know more about it, but am guessing the girl is blind?

I liked that intro enough to click over to amazon for more details... can't wait to hear what you think. This may belong on my wish list!
Haven't heard of this book before. The title and opening hint at mystery and momentous happenings ahead...I'd read on to find out more.
Thanks for visiting my blog.
The opening is good, and along with the title and cover, it has my interest. Yes, I would keep reading!
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh my! Sounds...well, creepy. But hopefully in a fun read kind of way. Great scene setting too. I would read it! For some reason I love stories set in the deep, dark days of winter, but don't enjoy the season of winter anymore personally :)
Didn't know that there is a Berlin in New Hampshire :). Great opener I have to say, would read on.
Sounds like it will be an epic read. I'm trying to remember why I know the author though.....
Like the intro and I did enjoy the book. Hope u like it as well.
Sounds like an interesting read.
I'd keep going with this one. It's a great beginning that makes me visualize that bus while making me think something bad is about to happen.
Oh, this is new to me. The intro is promising and I'm going to check this out. Yes, I'd likely keep reading.
I'm curious about this one.
