Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for the speedy recovery of my son. He has been released from the hospital and is recovering.
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
Bones of the Lost by Kathy Reichs
Temperance is asked to examine confiscated bones to determine if they are indeed that of dogs. Meanwhile, she is involved in the case of a young Jane Doe hit and run. As the investigation proceeds she is asked to travel to Afghanistan and oversee an exhumation and investigation in the shooting by a Marine. While the pages turned quickly, the three cases became connected a bit too easily and is wrapped up with Tempe stepping way out of her role as a forensic anthropologist.
Take A Chance on Me by Susan Warren
Darek, a widower gave up his job as a smoke jumper to take care of his young son. The man who caused his wife's death is his best friend, who received community service. Ivy is the new county attorney looking for a place to put down roots. Ivy purchases Darek in a charity auction, as they get to know each other can they overcome their past, hurts and find forgiveness or will their secrets keep them apart? A great start to a new series.
The Whole Golden World by Kristina Riggle
WOW is the thought I had over and over again as I read this through provoking novel. Wonderfully written that leaves it up to you as the reader to come to your own conclusions, which is one of the things I loved most of all. The author told the story in the POVs of three women that gives you the story from all sides without any influence one way or another. Rain's husband is accused of seducing his student, Morgan, who contends she was not a victim and resents everyone's involvement. Dinah, Morgan's mother is determined to hold her family together through it all. I highly recommend this novel.
Between A Rake and A Hard Place by Connie Mason and Mia Marlowe
Book Three in the Regency Rakes. Jonah has been tasked to make sure Lady Serena does not marry the Duke of Kent in order to remain free. The first time they meet Serena is involved in checking off an item from her "forbidden pleasures" list. Of course, nothing goes right and Jonah must rescue Serena. Fun, adventurous and a great ending to the series.
Ashes by Kelly Cozy
Jennifer survives an office bombing. As she tries to pick up the pieces and go on, she has no idea that someone is seeking justice for her. Sean has been forced to retire from black ops, and is seeking the justice for Jennifer. Both stories are compelling, heartbreaking and intense. I could not turn the pages fast enough and the ending was brilliant.

Glad to hear your son is on the up and up. I'm reading Bones of the Lost at the moment - characters in these books quite often seem to step outside the bounds of their roles! You can check out my week here

I hope your son continues to improve and heal quickly. You had some nice reading! I am several books behind in the Bones series. Sadly they had become less compelling for me. Ashes sounds very good.
