This week's What Are You Reading? is also my 2000th post! I have been keeping track of my reading on this blog since 2007, and will continue on in the same way. I was sick for much of last week and choose fun, easy reads.
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
Dare You To by Katie McGarry
I thought this would be Beth and Isaiah's story, but turned out to be Beth and Ryan's story. Beth is forced to move to small town, xxx, to live with her Uncle Scot. She wants nothing more than to leave, but knows it will put her mother at risk if she does. Ryan is the golden boy athlete with a family secret. They meet on a during a dare. Angst filled coming of age story. Look forward to Isaiah's story.
The Perfect Match by Kristan Higgins
Honor has a plan to propose to her long time friend with benefits, Brogan. It doesn't go as planned and six weeks later her best friend is marrying him instead. A family member fixes her up with hunky Brit, Tom. At first it does not go well, but they both decide to give it another chance for a specific reason. I love the humor of this book, and look forward to returning to Blue Heron.
Moonrise by Cassandra King
Emmet moves to Ft. Lauderdale to begin putting the pieces of his life back together after the tragic death of his wife. He meets Helen at the TV station. She is a dietician with a cooking show. They soon marry and at the urging of Helen return to Moonrise, Emmet's family vacation home in North Carolina. What awaits Helen there makes this southern gothic an absorbing story.
Waking Kate by Sarah Addison Allen
This is a short story prequel to Lost Lake. We are introduced to Kate as she is waiting for her husband to come home. While looking out the window she sees her neighbor coming home and talks to him. As they share with each other Kate realizes things are about to change. A treat to entice (not that I need it) us to read Lost Lake.
Beautiful Wedding by Jamie McGuire (audio)
In the novels Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster Abby and Travis eloped to Vegas. This novella answers the question of what really happened. Funny, emotional and wonderfully narrated by Emma Galvin and Zachery Webber. If you read either book, do yourself a favor and enjoy this one. I hope more stories from the Maddox family are coming our way!

These all look good to me, my wish list is growing again :)
I am not a fan of the short story prequels. I purchased Lost Lake this week and am looking forward to it, but I wont read the other. I want my book to be complete without a prerequisite.
