It's Thanksgiving week. I am hosting and plan to try a couple of new recipes. Hopefully there will be lots of reading time. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
Unspoken by Dee Henderson
Charlotte was kidnapped at 16 and held for four years. She has never talked about what happened in 18 years. She meets Bryce when she is selling a coin collection she inherited. He is intrigued by her and slowly learns her story. His friends, Paul and Ann, are working a cold case that just may be connected to Charlotte's. I could not put this book down.
The Last Summer of Camperdowns by Elizabeth Kelly
Riddle is 12 in 1972, her dad is running for political office, her mother is a famous actress. The neighbors are close friends. A crime is committed and in her fear she keeps silent. As the summer progresses we learn how the families are connected, secrets that are being kept and why. Riddle and her family had me hooked from the first chapter.
Time Flies by Claire Cook
Melanie's husband has just left her for a younger woman. She takes out her frustrations in her work as a metal sculptor. She has developed a phobia of highway driving. Her high school reunion is looming and she decides to attend hoping to rediscover herself and to conquer her phobia. A fun, relatable read!
Andrew by Grace Burrowes
Andrew returns home after trying to live with his guilt after a family tragedy. He discovers that a woman he loves is recently widowed. Another lovely regency in the Lonely Lord's series. I love these tortured heroes that need a strong, spirited woman to help them heal.
Gone by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge (audio)
A favorite series that was full of action expertly narrated by Danny Mastrogiorgio and Henry Leyva.
Reading:
Killer Ambition by Marcia Clark
Hunting Eve by Iris Johanson
Up Next:
Hot Shot by Julie Garwood
Take Over At Midnight by M.L. Buchman

Hotshot is still waiting patiently on my TBR shelf.
Have a great reading week,

I am almost done with Gone, last cd and it is sooooo good!
Time Flies sounds good - I like stories about "mature aged" women who suddenly find themselves single and in the position of redirecting their lives in a new direction. Or at least, I really liked Sweet Nothings which I read earlier this year, that began with a similar premise and had a great food focus! Sounds like a good read, Nise. :)
Have a great week!
Wow what a great week of reading you had! Happy Thanksgiving! We should celebrate it in Australia, I love the idea of it :)
Have a great Thanksgiving! I hope everything turns out well with the new recipes. I am going to be helping my mom cook for Thanksgiving and we are trying out new recipes too.
I hope you enjoy your books this week, I have all the one's you're currently reading and the ones you have up next on my TBR list.
Come see my It's Monday! post :)

I haven't read a JamesP in a very long time and have enjoyed them for the most part. Love the short, make me read more chapters :-)
Enjoy your week and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Ooohhhh I need to get back to reading more Patterson. I bet the audio was great!
I do like Marcia Clark and really, really love Iris Johanson!
Enjoy!
Hope your Thanksgiving is wonderful :)
Won't tell you which author I haven't read. You might hit my hand for being naughty. I do luv Claire Cook. Didn't know about the book you listed. Like the one about seeing or witnessing a crime and remaining silent. That must be very traumatic. To me it seems there are lots of books lately about kidnapping. So kind of passed over that first book. Enjoy your week reading and whatever.
