Last week was a busy week for me getting back into the swing of my normal schedule that includes work! I am so thankful for a wonderful boss that gave me flexibility while busy with home renovations (pictures soon) and our daughter's wedding. Hopefully, my normal reading pace will return as well.
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
The Time Between by Karen White
Eleanor almost died at age 17 in an accident that left her sister in a wheelchair. Seventeen years later to help support (and care for)she lives with her mother, her sister and brother-in-law husband as well as the guilt of causing the accident. She is offered a job as a companion to her bosses Aunt Helena back on the Island she grew up on. Eleanor and Helena don't get along right away, but find out they have quite a bit in common. A story of sisters, secrets and forgiveness. Helena's story is as heartbreaking as it is riveting. Excellent book.
Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich
Holly is traveling back home after taking care of the last of her husband's estate. She is tired, depressed and cranky. Logan, a hunky, famous personal trainer is forced to fly coach and sees her coming down the plan isle and hopes the chunky girl is not sitting next to him. Right away I hated Logan for his shallow, selfish attitude, which did not change until the very end and quite frankly was not good enough for me to enjoy this book. Holly is a great character, funny, charming and very caring. She deserved better than Logan. I was really looking forward to this book by Janet's niece. I will, however, read her again.
The Execution of Noa P. Singleton by Elizabeth Silver
We are introduced to Noa six months away from her execution date. Her story is told as she is visited by her victim's mom, a high powered local attorney who has changed her feelings about the death penalty and with the help of another lawyer works to get Noa's complete story in order to obtain clemency for her. A powerful debut novel that I could not put down.
Started listening to:
The Last Original Wife by Dorothea Benton Frank narrated by Robin Smith
The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes (multiple narrators)
The Yonahlossee Riding Camp For Girls by Anton DiSclafani narrated by Adina Verson
Up Next:
Love At Any Cost by Julie Lessman
Third Grave Dead Ahead by Darynda Jones
Three Little Words by Susan Mallery

I want to read The Time Between....and probably Big Girl Panties, at some point.
Thanks for visiting my blog...and I am really enjoying We Are Water. It's been a long time since I read Wally Lamb.
Dorothea Benton Frank is an author I am seeing on many blogs. I'd like to get to her books soon!
You had a good reading week, even though you did not enjoy all the books. Thanks.
You are ahead of me with the Susan Mallery series, I am still in last year's publications! I have decided against the Big Girl Panties, have read similar around on many blogs. Happy reading for the week.
Enjoy your books this week :)
See you read THE EXECUTION OF NOA SINGLETON, glad you liked it! I discovered a really fun way to share books I'm done with and think you might be interested in it too. I posted about it today at http://ourstack.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-fun-way-to-share-your-books-release.html
I'm intrigued by the premise of The Execution of Noa P. Singleton.

The Evanovich one has been on my wish list. I can't wait to see your pictures!!!
I haven't read any of these. I hope you have a great reading week.
I used to love the Evanovich books--wasn't sure about her niece though. I will probably pass on it at this point in time. I still have Execution of Noa on my wishlist to get. Have a good week. Sounds like you have a good stack ahead of you.
Some good books there, I hadn't heard of The Time Between before but it sounds like some thing I would enjoy!
Happy reading this week :)
The Time Between is definitely going on my wishlist and your thoughts on The Execution of Noa ... well I'm intrigued so I'll keep an eye out for it. Looking forward to the reno pics.

Thanks for stopping by Nise, I believe Third Grave was one of your suggestions. I usually like the same books as you do. Maybe we're sisters?
I think I would be irritated by the Evanovich book for the same reasons. I'm glad you enjoyed your other two books this week! :)
