The warmth of summer finally arrived believe it or not on the first day of summer! We went from low 70s right into the high 80s, it may even hit 90 this week.
Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:
Indiscretion by Charles Dubow
Harry and Maddy are the "it" couple of the Hamptons. They are great friends, hosts and everyone wants to attend their parties. Claire arrives with boyfriend, and it immediately drawn into this couple's circle of friends. I enjoyed getting to know these characters during the first half of the book, then the indiscretion happens and quickly I turn on the characters. Walter, the best friend, narrates the story cleverly, but don't expect a happy ending. A well written debut.
The Comfort of Lies by Randy Susan Meyers
The Comfort of Lies, a novel about the collateral damage of infidelity, reveals the darkest and most private thoughts of three women.
I should have never read this book right after reading Indiscretion as they were too similar with badly behaving characters. While well written and realistic, I did not care about these characters.

First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones
Another series that many bloggers recommended that is spot on! Charley is a private investigator working with her Uncle Bob, a cop. She is also a grim reaper, she. Charley sees dead people. They help her solve their cases and she helps them to “go into the light.” A hilarious, fun read.
Requiem by Lauren Oliver
Lately the final books in a trilogy have been underwhelming for me. I am sad to say it is the same with Requiem. The ending felt so rushed and not quite resolved. I was expecting way more in the relationship between Lena/Alex/Julian. Not bad, but not what I wanted.
One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Cat is leading a team for the government to hunt down and kill the rogue undead. She is reunited with Bones after four years and agrees to allow him to be part of the team in order to hunt down those who have targeted her for assassination. Another fun, humorous page turner. I will definitely continue on with this series.
Also Read:
The Doll by Taylor Stevens (6/26)
Up Next:
The Lavendar Garden by Lucina Riley
Love At Any Cost by Julie Lessman
The Lady Most Willing, a novel in three parts.

Indiscretion and The Comfort of Lies look appealing to me...enjoy your week.
Thanks for visiting my blog...I am definitely planning to read another 100 books, as the challenge I'm doing is for 200.
I need a fun read and I've heard such good things about Jones' Charley Davidson series ... maybe next week? So glad you're continuing on with Cat and Bones ... book 3 wasn't my fave but 4 is back to awesomeness!
Enjoy the lovely summer weather, have a great week and happy reading.
I just bought First Grave on the Right today. Two of my coworkers absolutely loved it. I am glad to hear you thought it live up to the hype too.
I hate when I read books that are too similar back to back. I try to vary my reads across genres so that doesn't happen but occasionally it does.
I confess that after reading all the negative reviews of Requiem I decided not to read it. You are very correct in saying that trilogy endings have been disappointing lately. Now I am worried about Veronia Roth's Allegiant!
I enjoy reading indiscretion type books but I agree two in a row is definitely overload.
Have a great week.
Great reading week, I don't care for reading indiscretion type books, give me a love story where people are happy or a good murder mystery with a little history. Thanks Nise. Is the count down on for the wedding. What are you wearing.
always great to find reviews posted as well as books read =) good for you - enjoy your week!
The Comfort of Lies is on my wishlist. I read the first in that Lauren Oliver trilogy and enjoyed it, but didn't read any others of hers. Have a good week reading!
I like the sound of First Grave on the Right!
I need to read The Comfort Of Arms yet.
I'm interested in Indiscretion and The Comfort of Lies but will try to remember not to read them close together.
I haven't read a hilarious book in a long time -- probably back when I read Evanovich in 2007! I need to fix that! Thanks for visiting my memes post today!
I agree with you about The Comfort of Lies and I love Darynda Jones's series - so much fun
Read on!

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
I've got Indiscretion on my iPod. Now I just need time to get to it. I'm to sure if it would have helped to have read The Comfort of Lies at a different time. I liked the book but didn't connect with the characters.
I had the same feeling about The Comfort of Lies too!! You've sold me on First Grave on the Right..will be checking that out right now!! I purchased #2 of the Night Huntress series to listen to and can't wait to get back to Cat and Bones!
First Grave on the Right sounds like fun.
I have had that happen where two books end up in my week when I wish they had been weeks apart. It happens.
I haven't gotten back to the Night Huntress series - a little too edgy for my comfort.
I hope your week has been good.
