What Are You Reading?

Sheila at Book Journey hosts this weekly event where we celebrate what we are reading for the week as well as books completed the previous week.

Thoughts on the Books I Read Last Week:

Last week was the week of Historicals.  Each one different, each one a great read!  I managed to finish three audios as well.  Now the fun part, choosing three new ones to begin!

Against The Tide by Elizabeth Camden

Lydia, orphaned as a new immigrant to the US, has a gift for languages. She has a job with the US Navy and has been offered an opportunity to translate for mysterious Alexander.  Against her better judgment she accepts and her orderly world is turned upside down.  I loved this book!

The Mystery Woman by Amanda Quick

The Ladies of Lantern Street are back. They are spirited, independent women that support themselves successfully. Beatrice Lockwood works with Joshua Gage to find out who is and why his sister is being blackmailed.  He realizes she is not the one, but her past involves her in this mystery. A page turning historical.

The Turncoat by Donna Thorland

Kate knows her guest is more than she appears. When a British troop occupies her home for an evening, it becomes clear who she really is when the woman steals from Major Tremayne. Kate is quickly drawn further into the war, trained as a patriot spy, becomes the fiancee of one of General Howe's officers, and comes face to face with the Major again. A suspenseful thrill ride that takes place during the winter of 1777. A wonderful debut I couldn't put down. I look forward to the next book in the Renegades of the Revolution series.

Tigers in Red Weather by Liza Klaussman (audio)

Nick and Helena are cousins that lived a privileged life before WWII. One loses her (Helena) husband in the war, the other (Nick's) survives. Helena marries and moves from the East Coast to California. Nick and Hughes moves to Florida then back to Boston. As the years go, children arrive and life is not all it seems. Full of secrets, lies, betrayals. A debut that was narrated by my favorite Katherine Kellgren.  She does a great job narrating the POVs of 5 characters.

Also finished:
Bite Me, Your Grace by Brooklyn Ann (5/8)
Private Berlin by JP and Mark Sullivan (audio) 5/10
Fatherless by James Dobson and Kurt Bruner (audio) 5/10

Up Next:
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell
The Burning Air by Erin Kelly
A Highland Werewolf Wedding by Terry Spear

Book Thoughts Posted:
It Happend At The Fair by Deeanne Gist
The Cowby and The Cossack by Claire Huffaker

Argh Nise, you're dangerous for my wishlist and TBR piles. Love the cover of Tigers in Red Weather, it definitely appeals but so does The Turncoat and Against the Tide. Decisions, decisions lol
Hope this week of reading is just as good as the last :)

Even though historic reads are not for me I have realised within the genre they are unique so I understand the love for them.
