The Cowboy and the Cossack

Fifteen Montana cowboys and 500 longhorns are embarking on a one-of-a-kind Wild West adventure: a cattle drive across 1,000 miles of Siberia. The clash of cultures between East and West, American six shooter and Russian saber, begins immediately when a band of Cossacks arrives to escort them to their destination. Cowboys and Cossacks must work together or they'll never survive the journey, which includes a meeting with the warrior Genghis Kharlagawl and his army of bloodthirsty Tartars. The code of the cowboy and the credo of the Cossack offer different measures of manhood - but honor and courage are the same in any language when a common enemy must be faced.

I picked up this audio because of the narrator (Phil Gigante). I was totally enamored with these characters and the story. There were a few characters to learn, but Phil did a fantastic job with their individual voices that kept it easy to distinguish between them. The story was exciting, entertaining and absolutely loved the progression the characters made with each other as well as themselves. There were many a laughs, a few "no ways" and some tears. I am so glad that I discovered this gem.

Not my kind of book, but one of my favorite audiobook narrators. I too have chosen a few books because Phil was the narrator, but they were science fiction.

This one sounds fantastic. I like Pearl and the fact that she's advocating reprints!!
